Chapter Thirty

Thirty

Previously:
"Rage... Wings!" Massive red wings shot out of her back, occupying the space in between her shoulder blades. 

With that, she took off towards the airport.

Airport,

      Efe landed on the destroyed grass land of the airport. Vehicles were burning, bodies were all over the place. One particular body was burning in a vehicle. Patches of tarred ground were missing from the runway. A sudden noise drew Efe's attention to an untouched vehicle. Something rattled inside it, then stopped. Efe curiously drew closer to it, but she couldn't find what made the noise. She turned to leave, took a step then punched the tinted back seat window, it seemed stronger for a reason. A scream of shock erupted from Agu's lips as Efe grabbed her by the collar and pulled her through the shattered window. " I escaped"

"Efe! What are you doing?" Agu screamed. 

"I don't want to do this..." Efe was about to complete, when she heard the sound of a gun, her hand grabbed the gun as a bullet went off at her waist. She winced from the searing pain but immediately went into defense mode. She threw the gun far away then unconsciously coating her leg with rage when she kicked Agu's knee, completely dislocating it. "Ouch naa!" Efe screamed at Agu who was wailing like a mad woman on the ground. She raised her leg again to kick Agu, but couldn't do it. Just then, a resounding punch and the sound of the ground breaking, stole Efe's attention from the wailing lady. The moment she turned, a huge rock struck the ground where she stood, sending her flying across the field. "What just happened?" She gasped, looking out of the hole her body made in the earth when she tumbled. Instead of a rock, a person stood where she was blown from. 'Who the heck is that crazy strong guy?' She cried inward 'Don't tell me we have to fight that thing...' 

    The honorable's eyes gave off an ominous golden brown glint.

"She broke my leg... I'm dying... Kill her!! Kill her!! KILL HEERR!" Agu shrieked behind James.

"Hey are you okay?" David pulled Efe up. Her eyes popped out.

"Whoa! I should be asking you that!" 

"Really? Is it that bad? I've been better though" David spat blood as he replied. Not taking his eyes off James or Agu and so did James.

"Where does it hurt?" Efe looked him over.

"It doesn't!" Shrugged David with difficulty, he gritted his teeth "Look this guy keeps manipulating the space around him so I can't get any attacks in!" He tapped a foot, frustrated with the situation. However, that feeling was subdued by overwhelming warmth. He felt Efe's palms pressed to his back. Curiously, he questioned."What are you doing?"

"Well, I heal up so I thought maybe I could try to heal you since we're blood, you get?" David nodded. "Its working sha"

  What seemed like forever since David came to help Efe up, was only a minute or two. James eyed the pair as they whispered to themselves. 'That must be his sister.'  He thought.

"Kill them!! Kill them!! They have killed me... My leg!! MY LEG! MY LEG OOHH!! HELP! HELP!! HEELPP OOO!!!" Agu still screamed.

'Can't this noisy bitch shut up!!'  James violently scratched his head. "HEY!" He yelled. Agu stopped proclaiming curses and looked up at him. Her makeup was smudged, her liquid mascara slipped down her face and her red lip stain bled down her bottom lip. "Could you shut up!" He flared "I'm trying to think" 

"Think? You can't think in this situation! She broke my leg.. I can't work for you like this..." James zoned in and out of whatever her shrill voice was saying. "You need me... Promotion... Experiments" David and Efe watched them both.

Why is she still talking! Keep quiet! Keep! Quiet! SHUT UUUUPP! 

"YOU! Know what? I don't need you! So just die" 

      Before Agu could open her mouth to beg or speak, pressure came over her. It was like she was being pressed into the earth by gravity, except it was a billion times stronger. She couldn't move, she couldn't talk. Agu felt like she was going to be squashed by the submerging power. It was too great for her to think about fighting against. James smiled as Agu began to get flatter and flatter. Sounds of her bones snapping and cracking was delightful to hear, though soon she was dead. Parts of Agu's skin burst open, like a pressed sachet of water: blood leaked out. James dipped two fingers in her warm blood then brought it up to his mouth. He sighed. Content with what he had done. His hand fell from his face, smearing blood in thick lines from his lips to his jaw. Tardily, he turned to the siblings.

"That guy is a psychopath.. How did he just kill her? He didn't touch her" Efe's jaw dropped. "Is this who we're up against?" She now stood beside David.

"Thanks. I was trying to tell you.. He can manipulate the space around him.. Air, earth and so on. Now see, from the way she is flat looking.. I think he can control gravity"

"Gravity? What if it was air he used?" Efe squinted. 

"Look at the grass around her, they would have moved around if he was using air but look how they are bent and flat"

"Oh.. So how do we beat a guy who can use gravity to block our attacks?"

"We're two and he's just one guy.. I don't want to underestimate him so don't too. He can only control my attacks if they get into his space. That is, between four or five feet around him." David recalled details from his fight earlier.

"Did you just say he could 'control'  attacks?" Her eyes bulged.

"Yes.. That's what I just said"

"Children!" James called "How about we come to an... understanding?" He grinned, licking his bloody bottom lip.

"Oh hell no!" Efe mumbled "Ew.. He's still licking.. her blood?" Whispered Efe.

"What kind of understanding?" Replied David.

"It's simple really, you let me go and come work for me. I'll pay you both handsomely" 

'Yes! Having these two on my side will come in handy during upcoming elections.' He thought. 'I will be President in a matter of time'

"No thank you" David cupped the sides of his mouth and shouted.

"Option two then" James tucked his hands in his pocket, resting on a leg. "I will just kill you two.. First you, then the fatty by you"

"Did he just call me fatty??" Efe gasped, her right hand clenched her chest "Ouch" she was hurt. 'Mide always described me as thick'

"I choose three..." David countered "We'll get rid of you then go have a late lunch" A strong wind blew through the open space as dark clouds slowly formed. 

"Yay! It's going to rain soon" Efe chuckled foolishly. 'We can use this to our advantage' she thought. 

"You'll regret your decision" Half a second later, he was behind them. They're eyes bulged when they noticed him but before they could react he kicked the air between them, sending a strong force with visible ripping effect their way; it landed a blow to both of them. They would have had worse injuries if rage hadn't acted quickly enough, shielding them.

"He's fast!" Efe breathed.

"He got faster!!" David frowned. "Let's attack to see if we'll find any fault we can use against him!" David ordered.

"Yes sir!" They attacked.
