Thirty Five

A/N: Btw, this takes place after Tosin finishes crying. Lol

Previously:
"I meant your name!" Irritably, she shot.

"Oh! I'm Tosin.. Tosin Abioye. Nice to finally meet you!" Tosin smiled at them both.

An Augment turned in the direction of whispers. She jumped down from the roof she watched from. Slowly, she moved towards a set of old stores where one stood, halfway open. She pulled out her handgun; masked by a thunder, the gun cocked loudly. The noise from the store died down. Not wanting to waste time, the augment stretched her gun into the store first then kicked open the wide metal door; there was only a mad man sitting in dirt muttering in Yoruba.

"Ek'ale.. Ek'abo" he shifted in the dirt. The male's dreads were drenched in water, the heap of clothes he wore seeped small quantities of liquid which led the female Augment to think of piss. She nearly gagged on account of the foul smelling store. "..Bawoni oremi.. Ope ti mo ti rie" he continued. Disgusting the Augment further; placing her forearm over her nose, she raised her gun and shot between his eyebrows. "Ese gan". The madman's head hung oddly against the wall. Without remorse, the Augment stepped out. She tapped on the comms device in her ear "They already left" she announced, annoyed she wouldn't fight anyone today.
"Alright! Get back here" The bald Captain replied. The Augment took in a deep breath, facing up at the peeking moon, she sighed then left as the metallic smell of blood wafted through the air signalling the closeness of her preys.

"Not today" she smiled to herself "I require a formidable opponent." She adjusted her brown braids across her shoulders to make space for her hood.

"Prove you really are from Ayo!" Efe didn't trust him, unlike David who fell asleep in the back seat.

"Ah! How again na? Do you want me to tell you exactly how He felt after you put him to sleep in the hospital?!! Eh!!?" Tosin yelled in frustration, Efe's bottom lip hung open. With that, she looked out the window.
Tosin glanced her way "So that was enough to keep you quiet." Sadness clouded her features.

"Watch your mouth!" A dagger materialized at his neck.

"Hey c'mon. Person no fit play with you?" He gulped.

"How did you find us?" Efe changed the subject.

"I was told somewhere in Benin city so I came here and well... You're hard to miss if a whole town is shaking and planes are exploding." He chuckled, she didn't.
"Get some sleep.. It's a long ride to delta. I'll wake you up when we reach a safe distance first.. you guys cannot travel in those clothes." Tosin tapped the steering wheel.

"Okay Thank you Tosin" Efe greeted.

"No problem, go to sleep" The corners of his eyes crinkled. She hummed in response then drifted into a sad dream of Ayo's pain expression as she left him.

Tosin pulled over the car in front of a run down supermarket in the middle of nowhere. Palm trees and many other wild trees stretched out for miles in every direction. He sighed. His wrist watch clicked five minutes to two as he opened the car boot; he stepped out. The cool after rain air hit differently while being surrounded by swaying trees, he thought, pulling a blue duffle bag out, there wasn't any need for a torchlight under the full moon. Tosin proceeded to wake David first, the rain had done it's best to wash away any outstanding blood but they both still needed real baths before they got on the road at daylight.

"Hey! Big boy..." Tosin tapped on David's foot. He shot up in an instant. "Relax.. it's me Tosin" Tosin raised his free hand.

"Oh.. are we here?" David chewed on his bottom lip to get fully awake. It was an odd habit of his.
