Chapter 36: Wake Up to Reality!

As they both paid there last bows at the tombs, they both walked away to go back to the castle.

"Say~ I heard what happened to Oracle Ban... My greatest condolences." Marc said and Granger just looked in front of him and said.

"To be honest, I hope that i'll be able to see my old friend again. Although I don't know if she's still alive or not anymore." Granger explained. "After Oracle Ban's passing, I don't know what to do anymore. I have no inspirations to fight." He continued, but Marc looked at him seriously amd stood in front of him. "What?" He asked sadly and...

"Sorry." Marc said.

"What do you mean-" But before he could even finish what he was saying, Marc punched him in the gut, making him groan in pain and hold it hard. "What do you think you're doing?!" He angrily said, but after feeling Marc's aura, he was speechless.

"I know I have no rights to tell you what to do, especially when I don't know how you even got this far in life. But saying that you don't want to live anymore, pisses me off." He said and looked at Granger. "How sure are you that both of them are gone now huh? Did you saw Daisy being killed in front of you? What about us? The royal elites, the queen? The empire?! Are you gonna ignore us, just because you don't see anyone whom you love anymore?!

That's not the Granger that I knew of! Who are you? You're a weakling! Where is the Granger that I took care of?! Tell me!" He shouted and held Granger by the collar. He looked at him seriously, with deadly glare and didn't even say a thing after that.

Granger, on the right hand, just looked down like he's already a dead piece. He also didn't talk for awhile, until he laughed seriously.
Marc then let go of him and held his sword to ready for a battle.

"Yeah whatever. Don't hold your sword like that, we're not enemies." He said and looked at Marc. "And listening to your words made me realize that... Maybe you're right, I still have a reason to live." He said and grinned. Marc then smiled reassuringly.

"That's right! Another thing is... Just don't give up hope. I know that you'll see that friend of yours someday~"

"You're right. Thanks for waking me up." Granger said and walked closer to Marc. "But even though you're my senior~" He said and punched Marc on the gut, also making him grunt and fall to the ground. "I won't let you do as you please with me all the time. That's my way of saying thanks too." He said and smiled evilly.

"Why you cheeky rascal!" He said and stand up to wipe the dirt on him. "You're pretty strong though. This armor is really hard, able to protect me from bullets, but you were able to blow me off like that! So unbelievable!" He then pouted and Granger just chuckled at this.

"Whatever~ let's just go. Everyone might be waiting for us." Granger said.

"I do have a question though." Marc said and looked at Granger, and after hearing none as an answer, he asked. "It's about that girl from the academy... Is she the one you're looking for?"

"No. Even if they do have the same name and traits, she's not my old friend. The Daisy that I knew, always had this aura that makes me drew towards her, but that woman doesn't have it." Granger explained and felt something in his chest again. "And she always gives me this weird vibe whenever she is near me, or she's being talked about."

"Hmm???" Marc looked at Granger holding his chest, then he teasingly said... "Maybe you're in love with her?" Granger just looked at him with crunched brows, making him tease him more. "Don't you still get it? She's the only girl to make you feel that way~ so maybe-"

"Stop it with your daydreaming! I don't love her and I don't care about her, period!" But he only felt a sting inside.

"If you say so~ but if one day you realize that I am right... Don't make me say 'I told you so~'"

"Tch!" Marc laughed with Grangers remark and looking at him going onwards as him. He just ran to keep up.

"Is he right about what he said though?" Granger thought and just sighed at this. Then tried to forget about it.

As they enter the castle gates. They were greeted by guards who bowed to pay respect, making them bow at them too. Then they continued to walk inside the castle doors.
And as they enter, they were caught off guard, by the sudden gush of magic flowing from inside. It made them flew back to where they came from, the gate.

"What was that?!" Marc asked as he tried to stand back up. He was sent back and his face was the first to hit the floor.

"I don't know... But it was a hell of a magic!"

"We better hurry up! The queen is inside! Protect her at once!" One of the guards shouted and everyone ran inside.
Both Marc and Granger then stand back up and ran with the others.

"I thought everything has already ended!" Marc said and drew his sword out. Granger didn't said a word and filled his gun with bullets.

And as they entered the palace, they were all ready to launch an attack when... They saw that everyone was well protected with Zandre's shield and Daisy was in the middle of the room, glowing powerful orange.

"What the-" Marc reacted and went silent.

"Oh there you two are! You've missed the big surprise!" Sky said with glee as they all line up and get out of Zandre's back.

"It seemed like we did huh?" Marc then said and asked. "What happened? I thought you were being attacked. That explosion made us fly far you know!" He explained and everyone giggled at his remark, making him pout.

"Marc, Granger... Pay your respects to the powerful Phoenix bearer." After hearing what the queen said, they were both shocked at the same time. Mostly Granger. He couldn't move an inch. He don't know what to react. "Everyone, you may go back to your place." Imea said and everyone put their right hand on their left chest to pay respect, before going out of the castle to go back to their places.

"Isn't she awesome! We were with her all the time, and we didn't even noticed! I feel small right now~" Jade said with an excited tone and held Daisy by the hand. But he then let go after feeling too much pressure and heat. "Ow! Ouch! Ow ow ow! You're too hot!" He said and waived his hands to breath some air on it.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to." Daisy said and tried to calm down. But the thumping of her heart made it worse. The light around her lit stronger, making it more hot inside.
"Oh no!" She said and didn't know what to do.

"Whoa! Easy there tiger sharky dear~ take a deep breath okay? Inhale~ exhale~" Professor Rylie was the one to calm her down. She did what she was told until she was calm enough to get rid of her glowing.

"I'm really sorry~ let me fix that." She said and held Jade's hand to cool it down. But it didn't go the way she expected~
