AMARA CABOT
When I woke, I was surprised I was still alive.
The last thing I remember is being trapped in the cellar.
I opened my eyes, struggling to blink as my sight adjusted to the darkness. I had no idea where I was or what was happening.
I had slight movement off my body now but my arms and legs failed to move.
I shivered, biting my skin-peeled lips. I could feel water seeping into my skin and it was then I realised I was still soaking wet and frozen.
When I heard voices, I turned my head to find where they were coming from.
My eyes widened in horror when it clicked that I was in the boot of a car.
"HELP!" I screamed, "HELP ME!"
My throat felt tight and raw.
Suddenly, we stopped.
My chest rose and fell in a panic as I braced myself for the worst. Until, the boot opened.
"Good, you're awake."
I was dragged out of the boot, the bright, grey sky giving me a searing headache.
"W-where are we?" I asked. I recognised the Irish accent.
I got no response.
My feet dragged along the dust packed road until we stopped.
My eyes widened when I saw we were at the edge of a cliff.
"What are we doing here?" I asked.
"Mar!" I heard my name be screamed, "AMARA!"
I whipped my head round to see my brothers.
I thrashed in the persons arm, but they pushed me to the ground so my knees scraped along the dirt.
"Get away from the edge!" I yelled at them, "Get away!"
They shuffled toward the safe side more, but were still under watchful eye of the guards.
"What are they doing here? He promised they wouldn't be injured!"
"Alec didn't fulfill his promise."
I mentally cringed at that voice and grit my teeth. "Mattia."
"We were kidnapped. Trapped in a cellar all night. I basically drowned I-"
"Then where's Alec?" He asked. I shook my head, "I- I don't know."
I lowered my head. "Okay then."
The cock of a gun is what made me lift my head, "WAIT!" I screamed.
"Kill me!"
"Excuse me?"
"Kill me instead! Not them, please. It's me you really want to kill."
