AMARA CABOT
I had managed to keep down a full meal of food without the overwhelming urge to throw up.
My brothers were back home now, and I had to lie saying I had bad shrimp at grandmothers party. They seemed to believe me.
"So, you boys are back at school tomorrow." I teased, seeing them both make faces, "Do we have too? Why can't we just stay here, learn to fight or something." Finn said, looking at me, "Because unfortunately for you, you're still in school and I'm not going to get arrested because you two don't go, okay?" I said, smirking.
Finn rolled his eyes and Joey put his hands over his chest, "Now go get ready for bed. You've got a big day tomorrow."
I left the room, feeling light headed after moving too quickly, "I assume that went okay?" I heard someone say, and realised it as the familiar voice of Alec, I nodded, "There's no screaming or crying so you assume correctly."
"Will you be needed a drop off service?" Alec joked, I noticed a small smile on his lips, "I can drive them, it's okay?" I waved it off. Alec didn't speak, but his eyes said.
My shoulders dropped, "Oh, yeah. No it's okay. A uh- drop off service would be lovely, thank you." I smiled, "Amara, its just not safe yet." He said, "Yeah I know. It's all good." I laughed humourlessly, "Thanks."

I woke up the next morning feeling groggy, after tossing and turning all night.
Alec had told me what happened with the cup. I was drugged, which is great! Super great, now we have a target on our backs who are able to access locked rooms and sneak around the house while we're in.
It makes me freak out, knowing that we could be being watched right now, or that someone is house is a spy. It makes my skin crawl, "Okay, are we ready?" I asked, getting out of the car with the boys as we stopped outside the school.
Thankfully, the elementary and the high school were connected to each other, so we didn't have to walk far, "Remember, no one talks about what's going." I looked at Joey, "Understand?"
Finn and Joey nod. I wave goodbye to them as Joey runs off, immediately being greeted by his friends, as Finn walks into the high school, a book tucked under his arm.
I get back into the passenger side, hearing Giovanni start the engine before we drive off.
We drive in silence to the house, my knee bouncing up and down anxiously as we pull up the long driveway, finally driving at the house. Although, my nerves are heightened as we see a car, "That's Angelo's car." Giovanni breathes.
My blood boils at the sight of his car and I breathe out angrily, "Do I have to see him?" I say, annoyed. Giovanni laughs at my expression and shakes his head, "No. But we do have a reputation to uphold, remember girlfriend?" He wiggles his eyebrows and I snort.
"Oh yeah. Lets say we were on a romantic date to the high school to drop of my brothers."
Giovanni opens my door for me and I thank him, looping my arm through his as he opens the large door, "We're home." He calls out, acting natural.
We hear no response so we head to the kitchen, hearing voices rumble through the hall.
"I don't want to go in there." I groan, stomping my foot, "We have too. Come on."
Gio pulls me through the door and I smile awkwardly.
Although, I am surprised to see that we're accompanied by two more faces. Alec's father, mother and a girl.
The girl is beautiful, she has the blonde hair, pinned straight down, eyes as blue as the Atlantic Ocean and her figure is stunning, I'm instantly jealous, "Hi there. Sorry, we went out for coffee." I giggled, averting my eyes from Alec's intense gaze, "Nonsense. No need to apologise, I don't think we've met. I'm Francesca, Alec's mother." She held out her hand for me, smiling warmly. I shook it, hearing her jewellery clang against her skin, "Amara." I said awkward.
"Are you two an item?" Francesca asked, glancing between Giovanni and I."
I felt Gio stiffen beneath our hold and I shrugged, "I mean he's cute and he's pretty creative when it comes to first dates so, I don't know. Maybe one day." I smile, making a suggestive eye wiggle at Francesca.
Francesca laughs, "Oh I know what you mean! Boys and their ways. I like the look, very cute!"
"But you went to your grandmothers party with Alec." Angelo butt in. My mood instantly soured as I struggled to keep eye contact with him, "Yes, I did. Because Giovanni was busy that night and Alec offered." I shrugged, keeping my cool.
Tension had settled between us as Angelo and I kept a heated stare, "Very well." He gave up, turning back to his wife, "This is Tiffany. Alec's soon to be wife." Angelo stated proudly, smirking.
Immediately I felt sick. My knees went weak and I felt my shoulders slacken. I don't know why I feel like this, I shouldn't. Giovanni held me tighter, "Congratulations brother." He said, lying through his teeth, "Yeah. Congrats." I said, not meeting his eyes, "Sweetie, shall we?" I asked, looking at Giovanni with a pleading gaze.
He seemed confused before he caught on, "Oh yeah, lets go get ready. We wouldn't want to miss our reservation."
We hurried out of there and I so desperately wanted to look at Alec. I wanted to see his face.
But I ignored him.
"Amara." I heard Gio say. Tears brimmed in my eyes and I wiped them away, "Yeah?" I croaked out, "Are you okay?" He said, not letting go of me, "I'm fine. Do you wanna do something?" I asked.
He cocked his head to the side, "Like what?"
"Like, run away?" I said quickly, pacing the hallway as I headed into my room.
"Yeah. We can grab my brothers and- and leave New York. Go to Australia or something."
Giovanni grabbed my wrists, "Hey." He stopped me. I breathed out, feeling a tear roll down my cheek, Gio wiped it away with his thumb, "I'm sorry." He said in a small voice.
I shook my head, denial seeping through me, "It's fine. I get it. Besides, he doesn't like me anyway. Why would he. He could have anyone, like that Tiffany girl, she's beautiful."
"So are you, Amara. And trust me when I say this, he would much rather have you."
