AMARA CABOT
Alec was mad at me because I had an attitude and wouldn't let me in on the plan. I huffed, crossing my arms as boredom welcomed me.
My legs were crossed as I sat on the leather couch in the living room, alone. I stared out the windows, the grey weather turning my mood sour.
I was alone in this house.
My brothers were gone, Alec and the guys were gone.
I'm not used to having the place to myself, I'm usually always with a bodyguard.
They had notified me about an hour ago of a tiny part of their plan and I was worried.
They wanted my grandmother dead. Although I don't like her- actually, I hate the woman. I don't want her dead.
Her house, money, cars all belong to my family and if she dies before the will is settled, we'll be left with nothing. Alec always say's he'll provide for us but he can't do that forever.
I tapped my foot impatiently, fiddling with the switch on the remote that I had no idea how to use.
But I had a heart attack when the phone rang.
Quickly jumping up to get it, I answered with enthusiasm, "Hello?" I questioned, hoping someone on the other line could give me an answer to what the hell is going on.
"Mar? Hey- we need you down here. Now." Giovanni's panicked voice had me worried.
"What's going on? Where are you guys?"
I placed the cordless phone down and pressed speaker, tugging on my jacket.
"Down by the docks, where Joey was taken the one time. I i-it's bad. I don't know."
"Okay. Gio- breathe. I'm coming. But you need to tell me what's going on!" I said.
"Alec's hurt. Bad."
My heart stopped and I felt my chest constrict. I felt my lip tremble and almost dropped the phone, sucking in a breath, "How badly." I mumbled calmly into the phone, "Just get down here." He yelled, and then the line went dead.

I arrived at the docks in under fifteen minutes, practically speeding down the highway in some random car I found in the garage.
"Giovanni!" I yelled, my raw voice screeching over the sound of the city. The wind was cold and the clouds were threatening to rain, but I ran toward the boats where the water was lapping over the footpath as I stepped around the puddles.
"Marco? Hello?"
I couldn't hear anything except the honk from the boats and my own heart beat in my ears.
What the hell is going on?
I felt someone tug my elbow and was ready to fight back but a hand went over my mouth and familiar voice soothed my ears.
"It's okay it's just me!" Alec whispered. His voice sent shivers down my spine. I spun in his arms, "Oh my God- you're alright. Giovanni said you were hurt." I said back, squeezing him tight.
"I am fine, Amara. What are you doing here?" He said annoyed, a frown on his face.
"Giovanni told me to come down here." I said, confused.
Alec closed his eyes, "Come with me, quickly."
"Alec what is going on? What is happening right now?"
