The silence was too loud. No one said a word. All eyes were fixed on Dex and the woman at his side. Her overly made up face failed epically to portray any form of sympathy. Her shorts barely covered her bottom and her cleavage was too offensive to everyone around. She clung to Dex like a puppy to it's master. Dex hardly paid her notice as he awaited the doctors as everyone else.
Tasha, Mark and Gareth all eyed Dex with a deat glare. They were none too happy about Bianca's presence. Only Karen seemed to not see the problem there and she smiled genuinely at her. Bianca danced her ridiculously long false lashes at Dex before cooing like a baby.
'I feel sick. I think I need some apple juice.'
Dex didn't even move an inch. It was like she was non existent to him. His whole focus was on the ER room doors that had been shut in his face for the second time in the past 20 or more hours. Beth had been taking straight to the hospital from the accident scene. She had barely survived the fall from Victor's car, a gunshot to her right shoulder made her situation worse and her jaw too her ribs had been damaged from hitting against the car doos and falling. She was luckly the driver for the car that almost ran her over was quick to press the brakes or the worst would have happened on the spot. She had been taken to the ER at hospital arrival and they'd attended to her for just over two hours. It was a little after sunset when they had brought her out of the theater and put her in a room where strictly no visitors were allowed, including Dex.
The doctors had said they were going to let people see her once she woke up, but Beth slept through the whole night. Then in the morning, she opened her eyes once and started throwing up uncontrollably right after. Dr Evans was the one who was quick to notice that the accident had triggered her stomach pains from the regnancy. She was bleeding slightly between her legs and the stomach pains had been many times more painful and she could hardly breathe. It didn't take long for it to register that something was terribly going wrong. The only thing they had told Dex before taking Beth back to the ER was that they had her permission to operate immediately or both she and the baby wouldn't make it.
It was now ten hours since and the only word that had come from the theater was there were complications and her procedurte would take longer than expected.
A sharp annoying cry came from Bianca alerting Dex of his surroundings.
'Shut up or I will make you!' Dex snapped.
'Your sister just called me a tramp. That's rude.'
'I don't care. Just shut the hell up.' Dex answered sternly.
'Get out of here or I swear I will kill you with my bare hands.' Tasha warned. Bianca moved closer to Dex for protection. Dex got up and swiftly threw Bianca's hands off him. He looked at both her and Tasha.
'I don't need this nonsense cat fight right now. Both of you behave or leave.'
Tasha frowned at him but said nothing.
'Tasha, she's pregnant therefore fragile. Mind your attitude. I'll get you some apple juice Bianca.' Karen said getting up. Gareth got up immediately and stopped his wife from taking a step further.
'Bianca, I don't know what your relationship with my son is, but right now we're here for Beth and she's not your friend or family. Leave this instant and never show your face before me and my family again. Karen sit down or leave with your fragile friend.'
Bianca looked at Dex and Karen for rescue. Karen quickly sat down at her husband's serious tone.
'Dex?' Bianca asked.
'We'll finish our talk later. Go home.' Dex said. Bianca gave a half smile and walked away with a sway of her hips. Tasha got up and stood in front of Dex who had now moved to his own seat a bit far from everyone else.
