Beth stood in shock staring at the TV screen. Her heart hammered against her chest as the news was reported o TV. She knew Karen disliked her from the first day they met but never had she thought Karen was capable of such an evil act.
'What are you watching?' Dex asked as he walked into the lounge looking at the TV and suddenly his steps halted.
'What is this?' He raged turning up the volume. Beth was still speechless and in shock. She couldn't answer Dex's question.
'Lies! These are all lies. My mother would never do this.' He shouted looking at Beth. He threw the remote control violently against the TV screen and the screen cracked and went black.
'You know my mother is not like that, right?' Dex asked Beth walking to stand in front of her. His face was etched with anger.
'I don't believe them.' Beth answered with uncertainty.
'Good. I'll find out the source of such lies and they will regret it. I know my mother hasn't been the best person to you but she'd never work with Victor Drayton.' Dex said placing his arms around Beth's waist.
'I made breakfast.' Beth said quickly changing the subject. She didn't even want to dwell on the speculations on the news, it was not right to think such evil of her husband's mother.
'Yes, but first...' Dex asked lowering his lips to hers. Beth watched him and slowly closed her eyes awaiting the sweet taste of his warm lips. When it came, she bathed in the moment. Dex's hands grabbed her possessively by her hips and lifted her.
She wrapped her legs around him and felt him moving but was so occupied in kissing him she paid no attention to where they were going. Her hands played with his soft hair and her mouth never parted from his. She found herself taking control and sucking on his lower lip gently but with an urgency like never before.
She felt Dex's hand move from her body and soon he had it between their lips. She groaned at the loss of lip contact but soon blushed when she realized what he'd just done, and what he expected her to do. She also only then noticed that he was now sitting on a chair with her on his lap.
'Want a taste?' He whispered hotly against her lips with his that were now glossy with the tempting chocolate syrup he'd taken from his breakfast plate on the table. The syrup was layered on top of the pancakes and waffles she'd made for them both. Beth felt wanton as she slowly traced her finger on his lips and tasting the sweet chocolate from him. Dex made husky sounds and pulled her closer to himself.
'I don't think I've had better breakfast in my life.' He said against her lips. Beth felt hot everywhere and couldn't stop herself from whispering a me too in response.
'Pardon me sir, but you have a visitor.' Clara's voice unexpectedly interrupted. Beth quickly pulled her face away from Dex's and hid it on his chest failing to turn and face Clara.
'I told you that I'm not to be disturbed all day today.' Dex stated sternly.
'I don't think you told your staff that I'm no longer an exception to that request.'
Both Beth and Dex tensed. Karen dismissed Clara and invited herself in the room. She took a seat on a chair across from the one Dex was sitting with Beth on him.
'By the look on your face I can tell you've watched the news. Here, wipe the rest of that syrup off. I don't want to know how you were planning on doing that before I interrupted.' She said passing a serviette to Dex.
