Life's good. Beth thought to herself looking at Dex who slept peacefully next to her. She traced his face with a caressing touch and kissed him lightly on the cheek.
Never in her wildest dreams would she have imagined the world to be such a beautiful place. Growing up, travelling had not been a luxury afforded to her. She'd only been limited to school trips which were mainly local. Now for her honeymoon, Dex had outdone himself.
For the first week, she'd been in Bora Bora. Such a private and beautiful place. Their days had been spent exploring the site. Nature was extraordinary. Beth was in love she didn't want to leave. Then when that week passed, she thought they were going back home. Instead, he took her to Santorini, Greece for another week.
Life was like a fairy-tale right then and journeying it with Dex was a bonus, although they'd started off on rocky ground. The past didn't matter now. It's always be there, but she couldn't keep carrying it if she wanted things to work out between her and Dex. She had to let go. It obviously wouldn't happens overnight, but it was her goal.
Beth's phone vibrated and she grabbed it with slowly groaning. She cleared the sleep off her eyes with her arm before looking at the phone screen.
Her emotions swelled up as she saw the picture and text below it.
How did I get so lucky? Damn baby, you're beautiful inside and out. I don't deserve you.
Beth felt her heart melt and she couldn't resist the smile that filled her face. She though back to the day that picture had been taken. It was a close up random shot that Dex had somehow managed to capture.
He made the forgiving and letting go process easier for Beth with the way he was going on. He'd been making it his mission to send these sweet messages everyday for the past two weeks since their wedding.
Quit blushing and come down for breakfast already!
Another text came in and Beth quickly got up from the bed. She went for a quick shower and changed into a loose dress shirt. Just as she reached the kitchen, strong arms encircled her.
"Morning". Dex said softly against the skin of her face. He kissed her gently there before inviting her further into the room. Beth looked at the food that was on the kitchen table."Wow. You made all of this?"
Dex nodded with pride. Beth sat down along with him and they ate. This lifestyle had become routine for her since wedding day. Things were beyond good between her and Dex.
To top it off, she'd fall asleep to his hot love making, then wake up to the same song. Dex awakened her body to desires she never knew she had.
