Dexter threw his folder on the table and stretched his chair. He had been working in his office at home since mid morning. It was now already after four in the afternoon and yet he still had a lot more work to do. He wondered when he'd ever get to rest. Even on a day such as this, a sunny beautiful Sunday where others were probably at home or relaxing somewhere, he was busy with work. His life was really miserable at times. He did love his work, but it demanded most of his attention for long hours.
With the thought that it's a Sunday came thoughts of Elisabeth. She was probably at church. He wondered if she was enjoying. He hated to admit but he had found himself thinking of her on several accounts this weekend. He noticed how even though she's quiet, her presence had a loud impact on the feel of the house. She was just so calm and peaceful and she spread that through the whole house when she was around.
His phone beeped grabbing his attention.
Got more on Duke that we need to try and figure out together. Will be there soon.
He couldn't wait for them to find out who this Duke was. Dexter was not well acquainted with the Mafia or gangster world, but he knew one thing. If anyone dared to mess with him, he had to take his revenge. Getting ready to take a short nap, he heard his doorbell ring. Surprised that Mark had already arrived, he quickly went and opened the door.
'Bianca?' He asked as the woman quickly invited herself in. He looked at her with annoyance. She had a strapless top that left too much of her cleavage on show. Her mini skirt reached mid thigh and her makeup was too much. But Dexter wasn't surprised by her appearance. It was the norm with her.
'What are you doing here?' He asked her.
'Your mum called and asked me to come and check on you. She said your wife isn't around and the maids are off today. You probably haven't had a proper meal.' She cooed placing her hand on his face.
'I'm sure I can take care of myself. My mother forgets that she taught me well sometimes so you don't need to worry about me.' He said removing her hand and leaving the door open for her to leave. He heard her close the door and follow right behind him.
'You were alone all weekend yet you didn't call me for a sleepover nor come to mine instead?' She asked with disappointment.
Dexter was on his way back to his office. He turned and looked at her as though she were a nuisance.
'Bianca I don't remember saying our relationship is official. I call you when I need you, and that hasn't changed. Right now I don't need you so get out of my house and close the door behind you.' He told her not wanting to entertain her nonsense. The woman refused to follow his orders and trailed behind him. They entered his office and he took his seat.
'Oh so all I'm here for is to attend to your needs and mine don't matter at all? You're so cold Dex. I'm not a hooker you know.' She said throwing her arms away from her body. That made even more of her cleavage show. Dexter looked away. He knew what she was doing and he didn't want to give in. Not in his house where he now resided with a Elisabeth. It just seemed so disrespectful to her.
'Get out now and don't ever step foot in this house again. My wife can walk in anytime.' He said harshly.
'I'm gonna go use the bathroom and by the time I return I don't want to see you in here.' He added firmly.
'Okay, okay I'll go. It's not like you haven't been coming to mine all the times Dex. Just call me when you need anything, and I mean anything.' She said smiling knowingly and winked at him.
His phone beeped just as he was getting out and he steeped back and grabbed it from the desk.
There's a traffic delay in the Rory lane. Still on my way.
