Chapter 13

Chapter 13: Love

Unti unti kong binuksan ang aking mata. I think it's already morning but I don't feel the sun hitting my skin. My curtains are light and see-through so the sun can go inside. Dumaing ako ng mahina. The sun is my alarm and I feel like it is morning already but no sun gave me the signal.

Kinapa ko ang aking kanan at isang matigas na unan ang nahawakan ko. Kumunot ang aking noo at unti unting dumilat. My eyes flew wide open when I smelled a very manly scent to which I'm very familiar with. Matigas na dibdib ang sumalubong sa aking paggising.

"Good morning, darling." he greeted warmly.

I blinked twice. "Hi, morning. Uhm, is it morning already? Why are you here?"

Napansin ko na nakasimpleng t-shirt lang siya at usual niyang black pants. Humikab ako ng kusa at pumikit muli. I just felt so tired but I'm aware that I have to go to school.

Ramdam ko ang haplos niya sa aking likod na siyang nadudulot ng umiigtad na tuwa sa aking katawan.

"Still sleepy?"

"Uhuh..." I answered without thinking.

"Okay, but... Happy Birthday," he whispered softly.

Natigilan ako at pinoproceso ang sinabi niya. Unti unti akong dumilat ulit. And yeah, the room is dark but... Oh my God. It's my birthday! Hindi ko man lang naaalala. The room is filled with candles and red roses. Bumalikwas ako sa higaan at sinuri ang realidad.

"Augustine," I blurted out.

Gising na gising ang aking diwa. Ever. I can't believe what's around me. I've seen moves like this when I was into social medias back then. And I always thought it is very romantic. Hindi ko inaasahan na pati ako nakapag-experience ng ganito. I am feel so happy and so in awe and so delightful.

"Oh my God... You did this?"

He wrapped his arms around me from the back. "Uhuh. Happy Birthday, darling."

Natatawa akong tumingala upang pigilan ang mga luha. I am so touched that my words just nowhere in my mouth. There are candles everywhere and they are scented too. A room of roses and cute daises in white and yellow wrapped into a big bouquet placed on my round table. My curtains are not white anymore. It's brown and it blocked the sun from entering in.

"Hey, you're quite..." he whispered. "Is it too much? I wanted to surprise you and this is what I come up with,"

Kinagat ko ang aking labi upang mapigilan ang paghikbi. Pahilim kong pinupunasan ang aking luha at umiiling.

"Darling..."

Bago ko pa mapunasan lahat ng iyon, hinarap na ako ni Fidai sa kanya. His wistful eyes landed unto me and wiped my tears.

"Hey, shh." he hushed me gently. "You don't like it? Ipapatapon ko agad."

Mabilis akong umiling. "I love it. Thank you, Augustine. I'm just so happy,"

Ngumiti siya at hinaplos ang aking pisngi. "Anything to make you happy. Anything."

It caught me very off guard when he kissed my lips fully. It is gentle and slow, savoring the moment. My face flushed so much for everything. Kakagising ko lang at ito ang sorpresang bumungad sa akin. Kinagat ko ang aking pang ibabang labi nang bumitaw sa halik at sumubsob sa kanyang matigas na dibdib. Tumawa siya kaya kinirot ko sa braso.

"Darling..." tawa niya pa.

"I haven't brushed my teeth or gargled anything." nahihiya kong sabi.
