We left Garth a message telling him not to let Jael go until we could get a spot in heavenly prison for her and took off to a cross road.
"Now you know the deal? Don't say a word once it appears, just wait." Sam checked with me for the hundredth time as I buried the tin box in the gravel.
"Sam. I know." I sighed as I straightened up and placed a quick kiss on his cheek, "now if you ask me again I will slap you as hard as I possibly can. Okay?"
Dean laughed as he spray painted the ground behind me and Sam gave me the classical bitch face.
"I'm not going to say anything because I have no wish to make a deal. Now get your ass over by the tree and wait." I ordered, giving him a gentle shove. He gave me a serious look and pointed at me as he backed towards his spot, "Not a word."
I just gave him the 'ok' symbol with my hand as Dean jogged over to join his brother.
It took a couple of minutes and a little more dirt and gravel piled on the tin box before we got a bite. Suddenly I was face to face with a well groomed man in his early sixties with a surprising amount of hair.
"Well what do we have here?" His voice was colored with a thick Louisiana accent, "A nephilim! This ought to be good!"
I just rolled my eyes and crossed my arms signaling the boys to come out of their hiding spot.
"And it just wouldn't be a party without the Winchesters would it?" The demon sighed, "What do you want?"
"Where is Harper?" Dean asked with a wonderful mask of calm.
"Who?" The demon asked as he tried to position himself in a way that wouldn't put one of us in a blind spot.
"The little girl your boss bought from an angel. Where is she?" I snapped, letting my angel blade fall down my sleeve and into my palm.
The demon held his hands up in defense and backed up to the edge of the devil's trap, "Easy now missy. We was told not to talk so I'm not talkin!"
"Bad idea." Sam warned.
"Tell us and we won't tell Crowley our source. Plus, next time we see you you get one get out of jail free card." I offered resting on my hip and twirling the blade.
"Make it two."
"Or you could not take my offer and die a slow painful death only to pop back up in hell and be stuck there forever." I retorted with a not so deceivingly sweet smile.
The demon seemed to contemplate this for a bit before he caved.
"She's in the cage cavern in Hell. Now break the line so I can start running."
"No need brother." Dean said with a cold stare before he nodded to me.
Without a second thought I set off the light show in the bastard's head and he was dead on the ground before anyone knew it.
I was angry enough to break every bone in the corpse but the look on Sam's face as he stared at it worried me more.
"Sam...?" I asked as softly as possible as I stepped over the body and shuffled my way closer to him.
Whatever you do don't cry. Keep it together Evelynn. Keep it together so he can keep it together
"She's in Hell Ehvs." He muttered.
"I know." I stated through gritted teeth noticing a faint flash of blue from my eyes reflecting off his chest.
Be angry not sad. Be the Hulk.
"Our..." He started but words just seemed to fail him as he looked up, trying to control himself.
"Cmon guys!" Dean hollered from the car.
I gave Sam's sleeve a light tug and led him back to Baby. Instead of getting in the front like he usually did he slid himself into the backseat next to me, wrapping his arms around me. I looked up at him and immediately had a flashback to their rescue-Evelynn mission when he thought he had failed.
He feels helpless. No. No that's not allowed.
I leaned my head on his shoulder as I wiggled closer to him and clasped both of my hands around his unoccupied one.
"It's okay Samson. We're gonna find her. Right?" I asked really trying to sell my indecision. I didn't allow myself to actually think about the possibility of not getting her back. I refused to let myself feel a loss when it wasn't official yet. I just looked at it one step at a time but I thought if Sam was trying this hard to hide his emotions I could play mine up a little to make him feel better.
He took a deep breath and looked down at me with a sad smile as he rubbed my bicep comfortingly, "Yeah... Yeah, we'll get her. Don't worry Sunshine."
I returned his half smile and rubbed my thumb over the back of his hand as I stared out the window.
"It's alright Gingy. I know a guy in Purgatory." Dean said more to Sam than me with a half hearted wink.

It took us a couple days to find a reaper that would strike a deal with us to get us to Purgatory and by that time even I was starting to get edgy. I had become the master of suppressing any kind of feeling but it was taking its toll.
We met up with our 'off the Rez' reaper behind our hotel armed to the teeth and wary of everything he said.
"Guys as long as you hold up your end of the deal I'm not double crossing. I have no reason to." He reminded us as he stood next to the open portal.
"Sounds a little threatening there Butch." Dean commented stepping halfway through what looked like a hole in reality.
"Whatever floats your boat." Butch shrugged.
I gave him a warning glance and followed Dean.
The air instantly became stale, bordering on offensive, and almost all color was leeching out of our clothes leaving us with variations on brown and gray plaid. Trees looked nearly dead if not already rotting where they stood and the lack of a breeze made it seem like time didn't pass.
I shivered and crossed my arms as I followed Dean further into the gray, "So this is Purgatory?"
"Not exactly what the Catholics tell you is it?" He chuckled as he trudged on in a straight line.
"Nope." I sighed as I examined one of my hands. My nails had been mint green but now they looked like they had been hung in an abandoned museum for a few centuries and let fade.
"Don't worry, Sunshine." Sam said leaning in and resting a hand on my lower back, "You get used to it pretty fast."
I nodded and tucked my hand back under my other elbow.
"Dean how do you know where Benny even is right now? Isn't this place endless?" I asked as Sam and I caught up to him.
I was answered by someone other than Dean, "No ma'am. This place sure as hell ain't endless and you have too strong of a smell for me to ignore."
Dean brightened, almost literally, by two shades when he saw the speaker, immediately closing the distance between them and giving him one of his signature bear hugs.
"It's been a long time Benny." He commented as he pulled away and held Benny at arms length.
"Indeed it has Brother. But what are you doin back here?" Benny asked clapping Dean on the shoulder and nodding over in our direction.
Dean gave him a confused look. When he finally got it he floundered through an introduction.
"Oh! Yeah. Well you know Sam, but uhhhh this is Sam's fiancé Evelynn."
Benny took my hand and kissed it, "Pleasure to meet you Evelynn." He said with a smile, still slightly bent.
"My pleasure as well. It's nice to meet a true southern gentleman," I said trying not to let myself blush so I added some sass, "Samson take some notes."
Perfect. I've made myself look like a complete dork.
To my surprise I got a light chuckle out of everyone before it was right down to business.
"What brings y'all into my neck of the woods?" Benny asked as he leaned against a tree twirling a self-made hatchet.
"We need to get to Hell." Sam answered.
Benny scrunched his nose in confusion, "Again?"
"Its a long story. Evelynn can tell you while you wait if you want to help us." Sam sighed.
Benny got a proud grin as he spoke, "Of course! Doorways only about a mile away. How's abouts we walk and talk?"
