Our honeymoon was interrupted. I should have known it would happen since the wedding was so perfect.
Our week at the cabin in Montana got cut three days short by a Rougarou a few towns over. We stumbled into the bunker a week after we had gotten the call, covered in blood and tired as hell.
No one had been idle while we were gone. The war room wall had been turned into one giant cork board with broken enochian and English scribbles pinned everywhere next to pictures and maps and list of all sorts.
"You look worse than I feel." Cas observed as we walked past, only partially acknowledging the wall he was staring at.
"What happened to you?" I asked, glancing at him and noticing a black eye.
He looked down and muttered into his chest, "I fell down the stairs..."
I giggled and shook my head in amusement as I continued to our bedroom, "Cas we need to find your grace ASAP. You're going to trip on a chip and break your neck pretty soon."
"We're close actually! We picked up on something in Denver an-"
"Cas, man. We won't remember any of this tonight." Sam sighed, "Just tell us tomorrow."
Dean called from around the corner, "Too much fun at the cabin, eh? You're a few days la- Shit what happened?!" He asked as he rounded the corner and rushed to inspect us for injuries.
"We're fine. We just found a Rougarou." Sam answered dismissively as he batted Dean's hands away and started the trudge to our room, pulling me with him.
"And you didn't call?!" He exclaimed.
"Nope." I answered, then turned to Sam, "I don't even have the energy to offer a shared shower." I complained.
"We should sleep first." He agreed, turning into our room and laying the sheet we used when we were bloody or covered in mud down on the bed before we collapsed on top of it.
"I need to get back in shape." I sighed, cuddling up to the least bloody part of him.
"That's why I went on runs Sunshine." Sam bragged.
I wasn't even fully conscious as I hummed in response and was out before he finished his next sentence.

"So there's a permanently open portal to Purgatory in Denver and guess what's in Purgatory?" Dean asked as he flipped bacon and pancakes.
"Your heterosexuality?" Harper guessed from her position leaned against Sam's shoulder.
"They already know the gay thing story okay. It's not that funny." Dean snapped, "There's talk from some reapers that some angels are guarding a grace."
"I wonder who's that could be?" Harper gasped.
"Dean hurry up and get her food before she gets herself in trouble." Sam nearly begged, giving Harper a look that signaled he was done with her comments.
"Most likely it is mine." Cas said, changing the subject quickly for Harper's sake.
"So we're headed to Denver?" I asked.
Dean whipped around and set four loaded plates down waitress style, "Once we have more details from my boots on the ground, yes. But until then we have two more ingredients to find."
And that's basically all we did. For a good month our days were spent in lore books or searching the web with little breaks to go train or eat or sleep. We had to tell Harper not to bring Blake over for a while because of all the hunter stuff covering our entry way wall. The last thing we wanted was to have to introduce them to the life.
One night when Harper had declared a family dinner with pizza and ice cream we got a call from Dean's 'boots on the ground'.
He took the call in the other room so we continued eating and laughing as we had been for the last hour or so.
When he came back in the room his face was a mixture of excitement and nerves, "Pack up kids, we're headed to Denver."

Sam had stayed home with Harper, mostly due to her begging, so Dean Cas and I road tripped to Denver. Harper still wasn't 100% down with being alone for long periods of time so to ward off panic attacks, she requested that "Dad should stay behind in case some horrible thing happens like a teenage serial killer attacks my school or something."
I told her she watched too much Netflix and left with a roll of my eyes, hoping it wouldn't be too hard for me to sleep.
When we got to Denver we collected as many numbers and emergency contacts as we could to ensure that if Sam and Harper needed us or we sent a distress signal there was a way to communicate.
After we prepped for about a week it was time to go.
I hadn't been feeling too good the days leading up to it but I sucked it up and hid it well enough from the boys that they just thought I was hormonal and sleep deprived.
"Okay, Gingy. Last time we didn't run into any Leviathans but you have to remember that you can't fuck around with those guys. And you might not be able to zap from place to place down there." Dean reminded me as we stood gathered at the portal.
"Why don't I just test it and see?" I asked, getting sick of his babying.
"I couldn't teleport last time I was in purgatory. But I was quite damaged then as well." Cas offered.
"Can we just go, this stalling is wasting time." I snapped.
"Damn. Alright. You'd think Cas would be the impatient one..." Dean grumbled, stepping through first and waving for us to follow after he checked to see the coast was clear.
I stepped through next, taking a few moments to let my eyes adjust and get used to the numbness that took over. On the bright side I didn't feel queasy or tired anymore.
"Benny hangs around the three trunked tree. We should find that." Cas announced as he followed me through.
I nodded and attempted to move myself a few feet to the side with no luck. Letting the sour look on my face cement and stick, I followed Cas and Dean through the trees and piles of rocks to where they were confident Benny would be. Everyone was silent for an hour as we walked, or at least it felt like an hour. I was constantly fiddling with my ring or running my hands through my hair, something was making me more and more nervous the deeper into Purgatory we traveled. I didn't feel safe. Not that I felt safe last time I was in Purgatory, but my unease wasn't directed at myself and I couldn't figure out who I was so concerned about.
Suddenly Dean raised his his fist, signaling us to stop, and listened. There was a faint sound of crunching leaves under a few pairs of feet and snarls coming from all around.
"Let's roll some heads kids." Dean announced, pulling out his machete and getting in a ready stance. I rolled my eyes at his comment as I unhooked my own blade and held it out in front of me as I scanned the horizon.
Five Leviathans were approaching, all from different angles. They made a circle around us then stopped as if they were waiting for a cue.
"What? We not tasty looking?" Dean taunted.
Cas shot him a warning look, "I would like to find my grace before we get eaten." he snapped.
I opened my mouth to agree with Cas but before any sound could come out we were rushed by all five at once. We immediately moved back to back to back and started deflecting any and everything that got too close.
By sheer luck I beheaded one of them because I swung wide at one that ducked and caught the one swinging at Cas right in the neck. This infuriated the remaining four and while they took their moment to snarl dramatically, Dean sliced through another. We slowly gained the upper hand until I felt Cas's shoulder lose contact with mine.
I whipped my head around to make sure he was still there and instantly regretted it. I made eye contact with him right as I felt something solid hit my head from behind and heard a crack like stepping on a stick. I stumbled sideways, trying to keep conscious as my vision blurred and my head started to throb.
But this is Purgatory? I can't pass out right?
Wrong.
As I stood back up and swung my blade ¾ of the way through one leviathan my vision went completely black and I was down for the count.
