Chapter 14//

When they got back to the comforts of home, Rocky sat Aiden on the couch and wrapped her in a blanket.

Rocky gently rubs her back to keep her calm and Colt sat on the other side.

Grandpa and Tum Tum went straight to the kitchen to brew some nice tea for her.

"Should I get you something to eat, Aiden?" Colt offered.

Aiden shook her head and continued staring at the floor. She wouldn't give anyone eye contact and that worried Rocky.

"Do you... want to tell us what happened out there?" Rocky whispered to her.

Aiden gulped.

"I....want too, but I only want to tell you...alone." She answered.

"Okay, that's fine. After grandpa finishes making tea we can find a quiet place out on the porch, if that's ok?"

"O-ok."

Rocky smiled and grabs her chin gently with his fingers and brought her face towards him, so they were looking right at each other.

"You don't have to be afraid, I won't let anyone hurt you." Aidens face turned into a small smile, and it made Rocky relax as well.

Grandpa came into the room carrying a fancy tray.

"Come with us, grandpa. We will take the tea outside."

Grandpa followed them to the porch outside and set it on the top of the steps. Aiden and rocky sat on either side of the tray.

At this time of the day it was the afternoon, the sun was high up in the clouds and shinning down on the two, high lighting their facial features. Their skin looked like porcelain and their hair was shiney.

Rocky carefully picks up the fancy tea pot and poured them both the steaming beverage. They were both quite.

"How do you like your tea?" Rocky asked, picking up the little creamer. The whole tea set matches. It has gold along the rims and purple flowers printed everywhere on it. The top was a deep purple colour to match.

Rocky always admired this tea set and remembers when grandpa always used it and would tell his brothers and him the story of how he came about it whenever he pulled it out from the cupboard. He treasured it dearly because it belonged to his mother.

He wanted to tell Aiden the same story but he held off and wanted her to feel comfortable enough to explain what happened.

"One cream and two sugar, please."

Rocky did as she asked and Aiden grabs the silver spoon, mixing it all in together.

Her mind focused on the swirling liquid for a few minutes, almost in a trance.

Rocky had to tap her on the shoulder to bring her back to reality.

"Is everything ok, Aiden?" Rocky finished making his tea and he kept his eyes focused on hers.

"You don't have to be afraid. Take your time to answer me." Rocky said. He took a quick sip of tea and waited patiently for Aiden.

Aiden did the same and waited a few minutes before she wanted to continue.

"When I was in the maze, I had a memory flash back when the ninja dummy came down in front my eyes."

Rocky took a sip and as soon as she started the story, he was quite intrigued.

"A flashback?" Rocky questioned.

"Yes. I think it was of my home life."

"Oh, what did you see?" Rocky set his tea down and grabbed a biscuit.
