If you have any questions about the cover of the book, I'm here to answer them. If it wasn't obvious, the eye on the cover of the book belongs to Jarson, a tabby cat with blue eyes.

Before you start reading this series, please know that I use harsh language that may seem offensive to others. There aren't as many sexual related themes (I doubt there's any, I try to keep it clean), but there are a few very violent scenes and a lot of swearing. Although no strong language really pops up until Part 2 (He Wasn't Alone, Someone Was With Him!), Chapter Five, you have been warned.

Cats

1.) Corrie: A brown tom cat with white markings and green eyes. He is Jarson's younger brother. Corrie and Jarson are both refugees who have found shelter with Phoenix. Corrie is attracted to Storm, but the relationship is not mutual.

Corrie's only wish is to be able to do things right for once. He wants to be brave and less shy. He also relies on his brother way too much, taking his advice and even believing him when Corrie is told that he's disliked by everyone.

Deep down, Corrie is a real sweetheart. He tries to be heroic, but only does this if he wants to impress someone, often his brother. Corrie just wants Jarson to think more of him.

2.) Jarson: A light gray tabby with blue eyes. He is Corrie's older brother. Jarson and Corrie are both refugees who have found shelter with Phoenix. Jarson doesn't like Storm at first.

Jarson is a complicated character. He seems cold-hearted, but is clever when it comes to insults, and he almost always has a harsh tone. Jarson doesn't really like company, which doesn't bother him, as others don't like him anyway.

However, Jarson only means the best. He's very overprotective of Corrie and will sometimes seem rude or angry because of his concern for his brother. This will also cause Jarson to overlook opinions about his brother (negative or positive).

He tends to treat Corrie like a kit, as if he still needs Jarson's protection. It's rare for Jarson to let Corrie do anything for himself because of his fear that Corrie will hurt himself (and will not accept that he's old enough to make his own decisions).

Jarson and Corrie are total opposites, so they don't get along very well, but there are exceptions.

You may not like Jarson at first, but I hope you grow to like him, because he does have a soft side.

3.) Storm: A white she-cat with dark gray patches and orange eyes. She is a barn cat. At first, she is angry at Corrie for, "rescuing" her, saying she doesn't need his help.

Storm also doesn't like Jarson when she meets him, because she thinks he's too mean to his brother, Corrie. However, as Storm and Jarson get to know each other more, a friendship begins and Corrie fades out of the picture a little.

Storm admires Phoenix's wisdom, but wonders why a wolf would take care of two cats. She doesn't say it, but she is a little scared of him, despite the fact that he is part vegetarian, mostly because wolves are known to attack something smaller than themselves.

4.) Shadow: A deceased/alive dark gray tom with light green eyes. He was/is Corrie and Jarson's father.

You may not understand the first sentence of Shadow's description because how can a cat be dead, and alive? Was he their father or is he still? Look at the last sentence of Shadow's description. That will explain everything. I am so sorry, I just didn't know how to put it in any other words.

Their mother's appearance and personality is unknown, but is has been confirmed that her name is Estelle and that she was a stray.

Shadow was murdered by Kanoa, but this remains hidden to the rest of Shadow's family. Corrie and Jarson just think that their father died from old age (even though Shadow was actually quite young), so they don't know the whole story.
