Chapter 66. Easing His Burdens

The next morning...

Akali POV

Oh~. It always feels so good to sleep with Ahri. Her tails make the best blankets and pillows. I hope Y/N thought the same. I take a peek at the two who are still asleep. Y/N was in between us, sleeping peacefully. Something tells me that it'll be a while before he's fully recovers but I'm going to be next to him all the way. That Giovanni guy is lucky I went easy on him. If I knew how bad it was, I'd have made him regret even being born. I hear the door open so naturally I looked. It was just Kai'sa. She signaled that food was ready. I nod to her and gesture her to come in quietly.

She came slowly too the bed until she was at the edge. She chose to sit next to me, kinda hugging me as we looked at Y/N. We both notice a detail about him we didn't know before. His hair was starting to curl. Damn it, first Ahri and her ears, now Y/N having curly hair. There's too much to play with. Kai'sa took a finger and played with one of them, curling it around her finger. She even gave him a nice little scratch. It was like watching someone pet a bunny. I resist the urge to play with it as well. Just then Ahri stirs in her sleep which makes Kai'sa go stiff. When she opens her eyes, it was directly on us.

She takes a good long look at everything in front of her and chuckles a little. Her tails shift around, making Y/N stir in his sleep. Kai'sa now gives him a head rub which awakens him. His eyes are still orange, which proves me previous statement.

Kai'sa: Morning sweetie.

Y/N: M-morning...

Akali: Did you sleep well?

Y/N: Mhm...

He was defiantly still spooked. Normally he's far more outgoing even when he first wakes up. But this is a challenge to us, his girlfriends. One we will overcome.

Ahri: Do you wanna eat breakfast?

Y/N: Mhm...

Kai'sa: Here, I'll bring it too you.

Y/N: N-no, it's fine.... I can go...

Akali: Are you sure?

Y/N: Mhm...

Me and Kai'sa get off the bed and let him follow suite. He was a pit hunched over and kept his arms crossed. I wrap my arm around his shoulder, showing him he wasn't alone. We all head to the dining room where the other 3 were already eating. This mornings meal was Breakfast Casserole. When they saw us, Marco got up and got a plate of it for Y/N.

Sera: You alright...?

He takes a moment to respond, thinking about how he wants to answer it. If he says yes we all know he'd be lying but was trying to cheer us up. Instead of doing that, he shakes his head. Sera had an upset expression but she quickly turns it into a smile and offers him a seat. When he sits down, Marco comes by and places a plate of food in front of him. Y/Ns face was that of disgust. His mind must have been telling it was something disgusting. Eve leans over and cuts off some of it before holding it up to him.

Eve: Do you trust me?

Y/N looks at her and then the food before gulping. He hesitantly opens his mouth and she feeds him. At first Y/N looked like he was about to puke until he started chewing. Then he looked blown away. In no time at all, he was devouring his food. When was the last time he had a proper meal?

Marco: I think I should grab seconds.

Just then, his phone started ringing.

Marco: It's Sona.

Sera: How is she?

Marco: She's fine. Could please you grab him another plate while I take this?

Sera: Sure thing.

He leaves the room while she goes and brings him more. Y/N was quick to eat that plate too.

Eve: Carling darling, you might start choking.

Y/N: O-oh, right.

He certainly looked better. Once he was done, I took him to his room where I left him a surprise. He may not be able to tell but I got him that PS5. This was actually the one from the Limo. We only really had it there because of me. Actually, this may not be such a good idea. If its his mind that's messed up, he might end up seeing things he wouldn't want to see.

Akali: Wanna watch something Light?

Y/N: L-Light?

Akali: Is it okay if I call you by your nickname?

Y/N: Yeah, sure... Rogue...

Akali: Hey...

I wrap my arms around him and plant a kiss on his nose.

Akali: Listen to my voice and relax.

Y/N: Okay...

Akali: You're strong. You're brave. Most of all, you're The Man of Light. You can be scared. You can be hurt. Those things won't change who you are.

Y/N: Akali....?

Akali: Listen.... A lot of people think I'm cool and all that... But the thing is, I was always the first one to run away.

I bring him over to his bed and we sit down together, still in each others arms.

Akali: My family is.... Messed up. My father ran the yakuza in Ionia. My mother, while she didn't agree with it all, she still loved him. She eventually had me and my little sister.

Y/N: Sister...?

I shouldn't have said that but I couldn't stop now. I need to get this point across.

Akali: Things were relatively normal for the most part until we both got older. Father made us train under a guy named Zed. Apparently they had a partnership and they trained fresh teenagers into killing machines.

Y/N: That's horrible...

Akali: Eventually, we had enough and tried to run away. The problem was... Only I made it out alive... Akagi, she....

I fight back my tears. Her screams echoing in my mind. One day, I will make Zed pay for killing her.

Akali: I had nowhere to go. Everyone knew that Akali Jhomen Tethi was apart of the Yakuza. I had to disappear. Luckily for this scared 13 year old, a wise man found me. His name was Shen and he'd be the father figure I always needed.

Y/N: What are you t-trying to say?

Akali: Don't be afraid to be scared. Someone else will be brave for you. For me, that man was Shen. We're in this together Light. We love you. No matter what, that will never change. So relax and let us take care of you. Okay?

He nods before leaning on me. I play with the little curls in his hair which seems to help him loosen up some.

Akali: So do you wanna do something? It's still morning after all.

Y/N: Can we watch s-some Dragon Ball...?

Akali: Of course.

Caitlyn POV

I was currently on the phone with friend and fellow chief Poppy. She led the DOD, Defenders of Demacia.

Logan: Anyone getting sick of these Police Names yet? I've got one for each major city in League Lore.

Since Y/N was going to out of commission for a bit, I needed to ask of her favorite Freelancer once again.

Poppy: Do you really think I can just hand Sideswipe every time you call for him?

Caitlyn: This is only the second time Poppy. You know just as well as I do that Piltover has more problems with criminal activity than any other capital. I've already given you the report on the Giovanni case.

Poppy: I know. Still, Miss Luxxana doesn't like it when he leaves for long periods of time.

Caitlyn: Isn't she friends with Sona?

Poppy: Yeah, speaking of which. Where is Sona? She was suppose to be coming here for a concert.

Caitlyn: I don't know the details but she seems to have something keeping her here. I suspect it has something to do with Y/N.

Poppy: Well tell her to at least visit the Fair Lady. When she gets free time, she wants to spend it with her friends.

Caitlyn: I'll be sure to pass the word along.

Poppy: As for Sideswipe... I guess I could lend him for a week or two. We're still trying to solve a few cases so it'll be a few days before he arrives.

Caitlyn: Thank you Poppy.

Poppy: Just be sure to return him soon.

Caitlyn: As soon as I can.

The call ends and I sigh in relief. I was expecting Poppy to be more reluctant to give him over again but I guess I'm too pessimistic these days. Someone knocks on my door so I allow them in. It was Jinx and behind her was an aspiring young Freelancer.

Jinx: This is the guy Chief. Ezreal Lightfeather.

Ezreal: You called for me Miss Caitlyn?

Caitlyn: I did. I'm sure Jinx has already informed you of Y/Ns situation.

Ezreal: Yeah... That's a horrible thing to be put through.

Caitlyn: While he's in recovery, we'll need people to take his place. I've already called in someone from Demacia to lend a hand. I'll be seeing if we can get someone from Ionia too so you'll be given a partner.

Ezreal: I appreciate the thought ma'am.

Caitlyn: He'll be arriving in a few days so you'll be teamed with one of our officers here until then. Lets get to work shall we?

Ezreal: Yes ma'am!
