MANGA SPOILERS
Hiding in an alleyway, you kept your ears peeled for the sounds of oncoming Yeagerists. If they found you here now, you were done for: it was very obvious who you were with your green cloak and black uniform with maneuvering gear hiding underneath. Hearing nobody coming this way at long last, you peeled off your tell-tale cloak and ripped the black covering off of one of the many heaps of trash surrounding you, slicing a hole for the head and concealing yourself in it. Hoping that your gear would be covered well enough, you pondered going back to Niccolo's restaurant to retrieve your horse. Any horses that you could muster up from this village would surely not be prepared for the long trek that you had planned.
That would be stupid. They've surely already taken my horse, and even if they haven't, they're definitely still crawling around there. You nearly fell back as the whizzing of horses ran past the alleyway. You slumped against the wall to conceal yourself, not knowing if they had seen you. Not waiting to find out, you took off running down the alley, your gear clunking and banging against your hips, making for a rather painful sprint. Before you could exit through the other side, though, you heard Floch's characteristic voice say: "I heard something this way!"
You panicked, not knowing where to go. Although you had hoped that it wouldn't come down to brandishing weapons, you had no more options. Surely enough, when Floch emerged at the entrance to the alleyway, his gun pointed threateningly as his eyes glossed around for movement. You knocked the gun out of his hand as you decked him as hard as you could muster, knocking him out cold. You began to take off, the gas from your gear wheezing as your wires shot out and landed in the adjacent rooftop. You wheezed as you were knocked clean out of the air, all of the wind being punched right out of your lungs.
"Where did you think you were going?" Eren's smooth voice sounded in your ear as you winced, the pain in your ribs unbearable. You struggled to leave his grasp, eventually succumbing to his grip. If you really wanted to, maybe you could've escaped, but when he still had a pinky finger firmly securing your heart for him and him alone, how could you leave.
"Get away from me," you hissed, coughing up a bit of blood onto your chin as you gazed up at the sky from where Eren was kneeling with you on the ground. "Your form is getting sloppy," he whispered, heaving you into his arms as he stood up, carrying you like you were a newborn baby. "I said that- I said that I don't want to go with you," you said, coughing and wheezing as you saw stars. Wriggling against his grasp, you began to slowly doze off as you heard him whisper, "You know I can't lose you."
You woke up several hours later in a dark room with stone floor, walls, and ceiling. The lanterns illuminating the room were waning and faint, creating long shadows that stretched menacingly as they climbed and descended along the dingy walls. Sitting up, you rubbed your head, noticing a particularly large bump that hurt extremely badly when you pushed down on it. As you rubbed your eyes, you noticed Eren standing by the door, neither in nor out.
"What do you want?" you asked, your dry throat and mouth making your voice crack. "Water?" Eren asked, pulling a flask from his back pocket. "I'm sure you don't blame me for not wanting you to drink anything that the military has around here." "Yet you don't seem to mind letting our comrades drink it?" you asked, hesitantly taking a sip from the flask. Noticing that you hadn't let go of his hand when you'd grabbed the flask, your hand felt cold against his as it always had. "Why are your hands so cold?" he asked, stroking over your knuckles lightly as you drained the flask. "You've asked a million times, and I always tell you that I don't fucking know," you whined, struggling to suppress the warmth that flooded your chest when he spoke to you.
You looked up into his eyes, and- to your surprise- noticed that the inhuman lilac color that had taken over his hues had begun to fade. Bringing your other hand to your face, you realized that your own eyes must have stolen back some of that color. "It's like tug of war," he said in your ear, his eyes never leaving yours. "I knew it would be hard to get you to hate me, but I didn't expect to give up this early." You bit your upper lip as you shied away from his intense gaze. You felt vulnerable here in the middle of the cold floor in a random room in an undisclosed location with a quite literal war criminal. "Then why did you find it so easy to put on that show in front of Mikasa and Armin back there?" you asked, flicking your tongue over the now-bleeding flesh of your upper lip. His tone grew colder once more as he too broke eye contact. "You and I both know that it's what's best for them- you know, if they think I'm this asshole kind of guy that they're too good for..."
