"Are you sure this is going to work?" Armin asked, tucking a lock of his long, blonde hair behind his ear. "As long as the pigs don't go fondling your chest or groin," Levi sniggered. You bit your lip in agitation. Armin was clearly uncomfortable, and he had always expressed concerns over his more feminine body. Surely disguising him as Historia wouldn't assuage those past thoughts? Regardless, there wasn't much else to be done. Jean was the perfect decoy for Eren with the sloppy brown wig, and although you could double for Historia's height, nobody had a shining blonde wig to mask your (h/c) hair. Not to mention that your eyes and faces were polar opposites...
Nevertheless, you were needed to guard the hearse along with Levi. The plan was to send in Jean and Armin as decoys for Eren and Historia so that they could get a ride out of the city and away from the prying eyes of the Military Police. After Nick's murder and the burning of the temporary cottage, nowhere was safe. There were spies in every branch, always watching the Survey Corps. at every turn. Even Erwin, who was still in the hospital, weakened beyond belief and bedridden, was considered too dangerous to not be guarded at all times by the Military Police. They were also staunching the suspicion of Hange's that the titans could descend or transform from humans, which made her face a public one; she was not allowed to assist in this mission for her features were too distinct.
You shrugged on the flannel top that you had stolen from Eren and buttoned it up to the top, leaving a few undone. The more distraction from your face the better. You rubbed a rough finger over the pearly white scar that snaked up through the middle of your chest, in-between your breasts. "Hey," Eren whispered, sneaking next to you in the cold alley. The mission was only moments from being underway, the final touches being prepared. Erin wrapped one of his long, lanky arms around your waist, pulling your hand away from the scars on your chest. Armin noticed the tender moment and headed to the end of the alleyway under the pretense of asking Mikasa to fix his blouse. "It's gonna be fine," Eren hummed into your ear, his voice a mantra. "You'd better hope so," you smirked back, leaning your head backward to look up at his face. He was looking much better than in the week prior; with the Military Police stalking your every move, he hadn't had the time or space for any Titan experiments, which meant that his energy was where you wanted it to be: on staying healthy and alert.
His eyes met yours as he looked down at you. You were against the wall, the cold brick piercing the thin flesh of the flannel, lips crashing together only moments later. He panted as he rubbed his hand along your thigh, making you exhale in surprise. You didn't want it to stop; this was the first time that you had let yourself stop thinking for weeks. All too soon, he pulled away as footsteps emerged along the outside of the alley. Your lips felt swollen and chapped from the encounter, but you prayed that nobody would notice. "See you?" Eren asked, palming your ass as Levi's small silhouette emerged in the shadows. "You'd better," you hissed, shooting him a scathing look of adoration as you sauntered after Levi through the shadows.
"How's he holding up?" you asked, nudging Mikasa's shoulder. "He won't last much longer," Mikasa said, her voice curt and full of emotion for Armin. "Damn," Levi said, peering through the glass skylight on the roof of the room Armin and Jean were currently captive in. "What?" Mikasa barked, drawing your eyes away from Armin's shaking frame. "I didn't know you cared about Armin at all?" "Pfft," Levi scoffed, "he agreed to do it, and there was no other way; and besides," he added, fastening his gear more tightly, "you guys should be more than capable of getting him out of there if shit hits the fan." "Yes, captain!" Sasha saluted, a bit too enthusiastically. "Well," Levi said, confused with the lack of attitude from the rest of the squad, "I need to follow Eren and Historia's hearse to make sure they get out all right." "Alright," you said, turning back to Armin's shaking body, "shoot a signal if you need us." "Actually," Levi said in a tone that let you know he was about to ask something of you... "Yeah?" you asked, turning back to face him. "I want you to come with me," he said, motioning to a nearby rooftop, "I have other lookouts up there, but if Kenny's involved..." "I understand," you said, and followed him off the roof in a heartbeat.
