"Gwen do you sense anything yet?" I asked from the back of Kevin's car was we sped down the highway.

Ben leg was bouncing as he kept glancing out the window then to the front of the car, eyes narrowed as he prepared for the fight we might just walk into.

Issue is, the four of us didn't know if there really was any DNAliens at the Police station we were heading for, just that Kevin happened to overhear something that sounded suspicious enough to investigate.

Gwen sighed, leaning back in her seat beside Ben while shaking her head. "Not yet."

"What about you try?" Ben asked,

"I can sense life, just not pinpoint what kind yet. (Name) has been making me practice." I shook my head.

"So, we're going in blind. Not the first time, and it won't be the last." Kevin shrugged as he put more pressure on the gas pedal. "Right now we gotta-" The black-haired teen cut himself off, jerking the wheel to the side and throwing the car into a spin.

I clutched at the door and seat, watching as Ben tumbled forward over the divider with a grunt. At the same time, Kevin reach over and popped the passenger door open. Outside, in the glimpse of pale light from the Police station, a man was running in the road with DNAliens hot on his heels.

His wide eyes and trembling frame refused to move now that we appeared.

Ben was quick to snap the man out of it. "Get in!"

The man leapt into the passenger side, darting a look back as Kevin spun out again and sped away from the DNAliens.

Tense silence filled the air the further the tanned dots got from us. Waiting until they disappeared from view to focus back on the new guy.

He was gripping the seat hard, breath unsteady. "Who are you?"

"I'm Ben." Ben said, waving to the rest of us. "This is Gwen, Kevin, and (Y/n)."

Gwen nodded, leaning forward and speaking gently. "We're here to help you."

The man hesitated, eyes darting about before he reached back. Hands slammed against Ben's face, tugging and pulling at whatever he could reach. I slapped his hand away with a scowl, Ben rubbing his face with a pout.

"Ow! Why'd you do that?"

"You'd never believe me."

I snorted, folding my arms across my chest. "Oh yeah? Try us."

Kevin diverted the conversation, back to one we were having earlier before rescuing the man. "Think, Tennyson. Those DNAliens came out of the police station."

"They must have had I.D. masks." Ben answered.

"You know about the aliens?" The man leaned over again, staring at each of us with growing shock.

Kevin lifted up his badge, shoving it in the guy's face as he kept his eyes on the road. "Been scanning for communications that mention any kind of tech above level two. Your name came up, Tyler."

That's what his name was...kinda forgot.

"You know who I am?" Tyler asked.

"Only that somebody back there made a call about you. Said you've got an oscillator key, whatever that is." Ben answered.

"Level-five alien tech." Kevin shot in.

Ben huffed, taking over the conversation again. "And fighting aliens is kind of our specialty."

"Where did you get your hands on alien technology?" Gwen asked.

I leaned forward now, peering at the plain clothes Tyler was in. Nothing notable standing out among his person. Which meant he must not have the tech on him in the first place. I voiced that thought out loud. "And where'd you hide it?"
