Lia buckled herself up in the black Nissan, then looked over at her friend, who glanced at her out of the corner of her eyes and huffed.
"You could have brought your car to any of the other shops in this town, but you chose this one?" She asked and put her car into gear, pulling away from the curb and driving down the street, looking over and noticing Lia give the shop one last glance over her shoulder.
"This was the closest, Lin." She spoke to Lindsay, "I didn't trust driving my smashed up car anywhere farther than here." She said and crossed her arms, "Why are you so mad?" Lia finally asked after a few minutes of silence went by.
Lindsay glanced over at Lia, before looking back to the road in front of her. "I'm mad because the people who work in that shop, they're dangerous, Lia." She sighed.
"Well, it's not like I'm sticking around- They're just fixing my car! I'm not getting involved with them, why does it matter?" She spoke up, not biting down on her tongue.
"Everyone who's connected to them is in danger." Lindsay spoke and cleared her throat, switching on the radio. "I'm done talking about this. We're picking up your car tommorow and that's it."
...
Lia walked up her driveway and huffed, looking down at her phone as it rung. She looked down at it and read the text from Luke, with a smile.
Yeah, that sounds nice. Lia responded and pulled her keys out of her pocket, as she approached the front door. She stepped uo the two small stairs and quickly unlocked the door, stepping inside. She closed the door behind her and watched as Lindsay pulled off.
Great, what about tomorow at 7? The text back from Luke was instant.
Sounds good to me. Lia responded as she kicked off her shoes, then locked her phone as she walked into the kitchen. She set her phone down on the bartop, then walked over to the fridge, pulling out some thawed chicken.
Lia set the bag of chicken on the counter, then leaned down and pulled out a tray from under the oven, set it on the counter and preheated up the oven. She quickly cut up the chicken, then slid the tray in once the oven was preheated, washed her hands, then walked over to her phone as it rang again.
She tapped the screen and smiled as she noticed Luke had texted her a thumbs up. She then locked her phone, then walked back over to the fridge and pulled out a tomato, celery, parsley, green onion, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, lettuce and an avocado. Lia set all of these ingridents down on the counter, by the oven, pulled out a chopping board and then grabbed salt and pepper from the spice cabinet. She set the salt and pepper down, then pulled out the tomato from the bag, quickly chopping it, followed by the rest of the vegetables. Lia grabbed a large bowl from the clean side of the sink and assembled the salad, peeking through the oven door at the chicken that was cooking. Once she finished putting together the salad, she opened the oven and grabbed a towel to grab the tray with, then pulled it out. Deciding it was cooked enough, she turned off the oven and tossed it into the bowl, then added salt, pepper, the mayonnaise and Worcestershire sauce.
She mixed the salad together and then grabbed a plate, scooping herself a portion, before she put away the leftovers in the refrigerator.
