"Can you not see that you're the reason why this is happening?!"

Lia was taken aback.

"Clearly, they want you!"

She looked at Jax with tears in her eyes. "If I'm just an inconviene for you... and that much of a target, then let me leave!" She yelled, wiping her eyes. "They'll be off your back when they can have me."

Lia shoved passed Jax and into the room he put together for her, quickly packing up her belongings as he left the room. The threw the bag on the bed and sighed, rubbing the back of her neck and up to the back of her head as she started sprouting a stress headache.

"What are you doing?" A deep voice spoke up from behind her.

Lia spun around as a few tears fell from her eyes and spotted Happy, leaning up against the door frame. He was who had been keeping his eyes on her.

"Leaving." She spoke and watched as he shut the door after stepping in. "Just let me go – clearly I'm the problem and I'd rather not put that innocent baby in danger." She sniffled.

Happy stepped forward. "If you're going anywhere, you're coming home with me." He spoke. "I can protect you."

Lia's heart swelled but she refrained from accepting the offer. "I know I'm a burden." She spoke. "I'm not putting you through that... you've been so good to me."

As he stepped closer, her heart started to pound.

"You're coming with me." Happy spoke, reaching up to her face. He tucked her hair behind her ears and watched as she consciously looked away as more tears slipped out of her eyes. His heart was going soft for her – but at least he knew he could take care of her and wouldn't use her like a pawn like the other members of the club.

"Happy?" She looked up slowly after wiping her eyes. "I remember you now." She spoke. "I remember everything."

Happy stared at her, his expression changing. "I'm sorry." He spoke gently, watching as a small smile spread across her face.

Now he was confused.

"Don't be." Lia spoke softly, "I understand." She said quietly, "After I found your credit card with your fake name... I-I found all those letters you wrote me from jail..."

"Lia-"

"It's okay." Lia spoke up. "I've known for a while.. and I understand why you did it."

Unlike Happy, he reached out for her and immediately pulled her into his arms, cradling her head into his shoulder.

"I'd do anything to keep you safe, girl." He spoke quietly. "You don't even know half."

Lia swallowed hard as she closed her eyes and rested into his embrace. "I thank you." She spoke quietly.
