With a heavy sigh, groan and huff, Lia flared up at her best friend and pulled her phone from her pocket. She opened Luke's contact and started to type out a quick message.

Hey! How've you been?

Nope.

Lia deleted the message and thought for a moment. She ghosted him because she was scared to get into a relationship, so why would it make sense to ask how he was? She was sure he hated her.

Hey, coffee tomorrow at 10?

Too bold.

Lia deleted the text again.

Hey, I miss you!

Again, too bold.

Hey.

Too simple.

Finally, Lia texted out a message and stuck with it. It's now or never.

Hey. I wanted to see if you wanted to catch up?

As soon as the message sent, she immediately regretted it and put her phone in her pocket, trying to keep her mind off of it.

She felt embarrassed.

"Fine, I sent it. Happy?" She asked Lindsay who nodded her head with a giddy grin.

"Okay, I have to get going now." Lindsay spoke after a few minutes and stood up from the couch, "Maybe we'll have a girls night out this weekend."

"Maybe." Lia chewed on her lip, eager to get a response from Luke but feeling very embarrassed.

"Okay, love you girl!" Lindsay smiled and dabbed her keys from the coffee table and left the living room, letting herself out the front door.

As Lia's phone chimed, she mentally cursed. With a heavy breath, she pulled it out of her pocket and stared down at the text.

Long time no talk ;).
