The blush spread across her cheeks as he pulled away, looking down into her eyes. "Sorry." He said softly and gave her sheepish smile, chewing on his lip. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked over at Lia as he sat up straight.

"No, no, it's okay." Lia blushed as she looked up at the officer, brushing her hair behind her ear. "Oh! I still need to get my car fixed up." She muttered and sat up slowly, "After I get out of these casts and shit. I think I have another few days." She smiled happily, looking away from Luke's glance. Her heart fluttered and beat, as she felt overcome with emotions.

"Yeah, Wednesday is when you have your appointment." He chuckled and offered a small smile as he looked over at her, "If this is what you want, we can look at jobs. I'll go grab my laptop." He smiled over at her, "Maybe you can apply to a few places then see if you can go back to bed." After she nodded, he slowly stood up and left the room.

Lia propped herself up against the headboard, taking a breath. As she rubbed her hand over her ribs, she stiffened slightly and closed her eyes. Once she hard footsteps towards her, she opened her eyes and looked up at Luke, who sat right down next to her. He smiled and logged into his laptop, opening up a tab. "The bar a couple streets down is hiring, do you want to apply there?" He asked as he searched he website of the bar.

"Twisted Snake Brewery?" Lia asked, a small giggle leaving her lips as she gazes at the link. "What kind of name is that?" Nervously, Lia looked over at Luke and smiled, taking the laptop as he pulled up the applications tab. "Not sure I'd want to work here, but I'll do what I have to for my car."

"That's the right mindset." Luke spoke slowly and watched her fill out the application, helping ehr out with what she couldn't remember. "I'm sure there's some other places too.. You look tired, maybe we should continue this another day."

"Yeah, let me just submit this." Lia yawned and rubbed her eyes, "I am really tired, this is boring me to sleep."

"I see," He chuckled and took his laptop back and closed it, then set it on the bedside table next to her bed. He smiled down and helped her pull the blanket over herself, then leaned down and kissed her nose.

"Sleep well, okay? I'm a room over if you need me."

Her heart fluttered as he kissed her nose and a light blush spread across her cheeks.

As he started to walk away, Lia tensed and reached out for his arm. Her hand wrapped around his forearm, looking up to him. Her eyes searched until they met his and she smiled, "Luke, wait." She muttered and blushed slightly, "Thank you, thank you for everything you've done for me." Lia slowly let go of his arm and smiled as he did, as well.

"It's no problem, Lia, I promise. Now get some rest, you're going to have a busy day tomorrow."
