We literally drove the car only two houses away. I had no idea why we hadn’t just walked the short distance. The pack house was still the same, just a big mansion sitting at the end of the road, with big windows and a fountain in the front. I could see the tikki lights lit up in the backyard. My dad got out first and went to open the door for my mom. I grabbed Bentley, waking him up with the sudden movement. He rubbed his hands against his eyes. I turned to see my mom looking at me and waiting with my dad who had his hand around her waist. Jai and Mas had walked here and ran to me as they spotted me. Bentley kept fussing. I thought that he was probably just hungry and so, took out his pacifier till I could sit down and feed him. I have the pacifier to him as we walked and almost immediately, he stopped fidgeting.

My dad and mom walked in front of me and I was in the middle of my Jai and Mas, who were arguing and trying to take Bentley from me. They both tugged on Bentley and called his name in an attempt to get him to go to them. My dad knocked on the door lightly while talking to my mom softly. He didn’t do it to be secretive, it was just his that his normal voice was so low that most of his words sounded like whispers. A lady who looked to be in her mid 40s opened the door. She had dirty blonde hair, green eyes and looked absolutely fragile but she was absolutely beautiful.

"Oh my, hello Kathy and Rick! How have you guys been?" She asked my mom and dad.

"Hey Liz, we’re good! How about you? Oh, and remember our kids Jai and Mas? But you haven't met my daughter Danielle and her son Bentley," My mom said. I blushed as the lady looked at me and Bentley. Bentley looked at her and started to laugh and jump, making his pacifier almost fall out his mouth.

"Well hello, nice to meet you, sweetheart. I am Elizabeth but you can call me Liz," She said shaking my hand.

"Nice to meet you too, and I’m Danielle but you can call me Dani. And this is my son, Bentley," I  told her. Bentley continued to laugh while looking at her.

"He  is so adorable! Oh, please come in," She said. We walked into the house and immediately, an intoxicating smell filled the air. It was addictive and smelt like heaven. I decided to ignore it and focused on Bentley. I saw Sarah coming towards me with Abby. Abby laughed and ran to hug my leg. I patted her head and smiled at her.

"I missed you Dani," Abby said.

"Hey baby girl, I missed you too!" I said, hugging her tightly.

"Thank god you came. She was driving me crazy, asking for you and Bentley," Sarah said, hugging me.

"Well, the party is outside. Come on, let’s go so that I can introduce you to everyone," Liz said.

I followed her outside but she went over to talk to someone else as they called her name. The rest of my family was there as well. My mom left my dad’s side and went to speak to some other female pack members. My dad went to converse with some male pack members as well. I stood at the side with Sarah and chit-chatted with her.  Mason and Jai were still standing with me, but they were playing with Bentley and trying to make him laugh. After a while, they stopped and tried to take him from me so that they could get girls to come over to them, because of Bentley’s cuteness. But of course, I didn’t let them use my baby. The whole time, I felt as though someone was staring at me. I looked around at the crowd of people and didn’t notice anything, so turned back to Sarah and continued to talk.

"Dani!" My mom said, getting my attention as she stood next to me with her friends. "I want you to meet some of my friends," She said. I nodded and smiled at them.

"Hello! It’s nice to meet you," A lady from the group said, introducing herself.

"Hi, I’m Dani and this is my son, Bentley," I told her, shaking her hand. All the ladies then introduced themselves and commented on how cute Bentley was. I thanked them and watched as they left. Looking back at Sarah, I sighed. It was annoying talking to my family friends unless they were my age.
