XV - Thief

  The sun was showing up beautifully, and I was feeling confident. After spending the night wondering what to do, I finally decided to tell Daisy about my secret.

After all, she was an inhuman and an agent at the same time. Why would it be different for me? Years have passed and technology is completely different these days. I'm sure nothing would happen like it did to my grandpa. I could do it.

  As I was arriving at the office at S.H.I.E.L.D, I noticed that Coulson seemed preoccupied with something.

"Hi, boss! What's up?" I said trying to make him laugh.

"Hello, Riley" He said with the same serious face on.

  I had never seen Coulson like that before. Something was really happening and I was too curious to know what it was all about. So, I followed him.

Daisy was coming down the corridor and he walked towards her, not leaving me the chance to speak with her like I was planning to.

"We're having a meeting" I heard Coulson telling Daisy.

"Now?" She said.

"Now. Avengers HQ"

"On my way!"

  She followed him and they both went to the Avengers HQ, a building that is connected to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s on the inside. On the outside, people think these are just two regular buildings with normal offices. Nobody, apart from people who work here and the Avengers, know what happens in them.

I stopped following them as I reached The Avengers HQ's door. I didn't have permission to get in.

"Riley?" I heard someone saying making me jump scared.

  I turned around to see Peter. I still couldn't believe he shared the same name as Spidey. Part of me believed he was lying about giving me his real name, the same way I did to him.

He probably just thought of his friend and used his name. Who wasn't curious to see Spider-Man's face though? I was!

"It's nice to see you" He said smiling.

"Yeah. You too" I said trying my best to be nice and forget our disagreements.

"What are you doing here? Waiting for Steve?"

"Yes! That's exactly what I'm doing here. I wanted to surprise him or something like that but-"

"But you don't have permission to get in" He finished my sentence.

"That's exactly what I was about to say"

  He looked around.

"I can help you with that as long as you stay quiet about it"

"You'd do that for me?" I asked.

  Seemed like Peter wasn't so bad after all.

"Of course. Follow me"

"How do you have permission to be here and I don't?"

"I'm not in an internship" He said smiling.

  We got in the building and I saw Coulson speaking with Tony in one of the corridors.

"Shit! They can't see me here" I told Peter trying to hide behind him.

"I'm sure they're getting in that meeting room. There you go"

  Coulson and Tony got in the room without closing the door.

"Great, they didn't close the door. How are you going to pass without them seeing you? Stay here. I'll close it for you" Peter said.
