A knocking came at the door, snapping Luigi out of his daze. Luigi had made sure that Daisy was out when he came. Daisy didn't really know him personally, but who did? But almost everyone knew his name, but they all thought he was dead. And Luigi was mostly responsible for him breaking out.
"Luigi, open up. I have things to do and places to be!" The man called from outside.
"I'll get it! Can't you wait for a few seconds, Dimentio?!" Luigi shouted back.
"Can't YOU go any faster?!" Dimentio retorted.
Luigi groaned as he eventually made it to the door. He opened it and was greeted with Dimentio's smiling mask.
"Hello, Luigi," Dimentio said, "What did you need me for. After all, I am supposed to be... DEAD."
Luigi motioned for him to step inside.
"I'll explain as best as I can," Luigi replied.
---------------
"So you are saying, that Mr.L is tormenting you in your own subconscious and he is threatening to take over?" Dimentio asked.
Luigi nodded meekly. Dimentio burst out laughing and Luigi turned red.
"What's so funny?!" Luigi exclaimed.
"What kind of man can't control the voices in his own head?! AH HA HA!" Dimentio laughed.
"Mr.L is NOT just a voice! He's become stronger than that!" Luigi retorted.
"I know that he is not just a voice, if anything he's much more than YOU." Dimentio said, "What is the purpose for telling me this anyway? You know very well that I would take L's side over yours in a heartbeat."
"I need your help to sever him from me for good!" Luigi stated.
"I already did that, you imbecile." Dimentio retorted.
"You removed him PHYSICALLY from me, not SPIRITUALLY!" Luigi replied, "I want you to get rid of him for good!"
"Absolutely NOT! I refuse to kill L!" Dimentio stated, "And you cannot make me!"
"Then I'll do it myself!" Luigi shouted.
Luigi got up and went to his shelf. He pulled down the pot that contained the Floro Sprout.
"I'm getting rid of him whether you're helping or not!" Luigi exclaimed.
Dimentio took this into consideration. Luigi was definitely not bluffing. Dimentio decided that he should 'help', in an attempt to prevent it. Dimentio let out a false sigh of defeat.
"Very well..." Dimentio muttered.
"I said that I won't let you stop-!" Luigi paused, "What?"
"I might as well see L off, if it is the only thing left that I could do for him. Make it as painless as possible for him." Dimentio stated.
Luigi stood there in shock. He didn't think that Dimentio would actually agree to help.
"O-okay. Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Luigi stated.
Luigi thrust the pot into Dimentio's arms and then trooped outside, Dimentio following close behind.
They were now outside, on the roof. Luigi had taken the pot back from Dimentio.
"Are you sure that I can just destroy the sprout?" Luigi asked.
"Yes," Dimentio replied.
"...that's it?" Luigi questioned.
"Do you want him gone or not?" Dimentio asked, becoming irritated.
Luigi looked down at the pot as he went to the edge of the roof.
"...are you sure?" Luigi asked.
He was hesitant. He was sure that Dimentio would have strangled him for the plant, but he didn't.
"Are you going to just stand there like an idiot or can you get on with it?" Dimentio questioned.
Luigi took a deep breath as he lifted the pot over his head. With one swift motion, Luigi threw down the clay container. It shattered on the ground, the plant inside being decimated with it.
"D-did it work?!" Luigi asked.
Dimentio shrugged. Luigi pushed past him and ran back into his room. He peered in the mirror and saw his own reflection! Not Mr.L!
"Haha! It worked!" Luigi shouted triumphantly.
Dimentio floated in closely after. Luigi shook him by the shoulders, pointing at his reflection.
"See?! IT WORKED!" Luigi exclaimed.
Dimentio seemed to zone out as he stared into the mirror.
"Yes... Yes, it did..." Dimentio replied.
---------------
Luigi laid on his bed with a happy shout.
"Whoa, what's got you so cheerful?" Daisy asked with a chuckle.
"It's just a really good feeling to the air, you know? Like a HUGE weight has been lifted off your chest!" Luigi replied.
Daisy giggled as she pulled the covers up.
"Maybe that means no nightmares tonight!" Daisy said.
Luigi sighed as he pulled the covers over himself.
"Or ever again..." Luigi murmured.
---------------
Luigi awoke with a long yawn. He felt GREAT! This was the first time in years that he hasn't had a nightmare! He hopped out of bed. Daisy was already in the kitchen having breakfast. Luigi came into the kitchen.
"Look at you! You're so happy today!" Daisy exclaimed, giving him a hug.
"And I'm feeling good about it!" Luigi replied, hugging back.
Their embrace was interrupted by the sound of vigorous knocking at the door.
"I'll get it!" Luigi said.
He rushed to the door and opened it to see an upset Mario.
"Oh, hi Mario!" Luigi exclaimed, "What's up?"
Mario pulled out a newspaper and thrust it into Luigi's hands. Luigi gave him a confused look and then glanced at the newspaper. He immediately paled.
The headline - 'Green Thunder Strikes Again!'
"LUIGI, HOW COULD YOU?! YOU SAID THAT MR.L WAS DEAD! WHY WOULD YOU LET HIM OUT?!?!" Mario shouted.
"I-I-I swear that it wasn't me! I-I can prove it too!" Luigi stammered.
Luigi took Mario by the hand and led him into the house.
"Search anywhere! There is no more serum!" Luigi exclaimed.
Mario grumbled something and then started to sweep the house. After about mid-search, Daisy came up to them.
"Whoa, what's going on?" Daisy asked.
"Mr.L is back!" Mario exclaimed.
Daisy paled as Luigi had.
"That's impossible! Luigi was with me all night! I was awake making sure that he didn't have any more nightmares!" Daisy stated.
Mario grunted.
"It appears that you have an alibi," Mario muttered.
"It's impossible for it to be Mr.L! It's probably an imposter!" Daisy exclaimed.
"W-what *Gulp* What did he do?" Luigi asked.
"He murdered Bowser!" Mario stated.
