Luigi, Mario, Blumiere, and Daisy stood in the hallway outside of the room Dimentio and Mr.L was currently held captive in. Blumiere had the Dark Prognosticus in his hands.

"So, you want us to forgive them..." Mario trailed off.

"Yup!" Luigi exclaimed.

"And then give them an instrument of destruction..?" Mario questioned, gesturing to the Dark Prognosticus.

"It is not an instrument of destruction and YES." Luigi stated, "They seem to need it really bad. After all, they kept trying to put up with us to get it in the first place. And Dimentio seems to be the type to avoid any unnecessary confrontation."

"I can confirm that." Blumiere chuckled.

"Well, Mr.L doesn't seem to be that type," Mario said, crossing his arms.

"PLEASE don't start this argument again..." Daisy groaned.

"We already had this same argument about three times, Mario, we're going in there and letting them out," Luigi stated.

Inside the room, Mr.L and Dimentio were panicking. They could hear muffled voices coming from outside the room and could only assume the worst was coming to them.

"Ohhhh Grambi... I was so hoping you were wrong, Dim." Mr.L muttered, "We're doomed."

"They brought in Blumiere just to insult me! They're gathering an audience for our execution!" Dimentio stated, breaking his composure and going into a fit of sobs, "I can't take this tension anymore, why can't I just die in my loneliness already..."

"Hey! I'm still here!" Mr.L exclaimed.

"Yes, but you don't have much of a choice," Dimentio muttered through sobs.

"Yeah! Well..!" Mr.L trailed off.

Their argument was interrupted by the door flying inward. In the doorway stood Mario, Blumiere, Luigi, and Daisy.

"We're gonna die..." Dimentio and Mr.L muttered under their breath.

"Oh, Grambi, he looks terrible," Daisy murmured to Luigi.

Mario eased up a little as soon as he saw the depressed state they were in. They looked completely disheveled, unlike Dimentio's normal lavish appearance.

"We know why you're here..." Mr.L muttered.

"So please make it quick, We've both already died once before and it is unpleasant." Dimentio finished.

"What do you think we came here to do?" Daisy asked.

"Um... kill us..?" Mr.L replied.

"What?! No! We're here to apologize!" Luigi exclaimed.

A silence passed between them.

"You... wish to apologize..?" Dimentio questioned.

Luigi nodded happily, a smile on his face.

"Yeah! I wanna say sorry for making it seem like I betrayed you." Luigi started, "I was honestly trying to help, but it was apparently not the best approach... And I'm also sorry for trying to get rid of you in the first place, Mr.L. If I didn't do that, this whole thing could have been avoided."

Daisy stepped forward.

"Yeah... Sorry for breaking your nose." Daisy laughed nervously.

Luigi gently pushed Mario forward who let out a sigh while crossing his arms.

"Mm... Sorry for trying to kill you and lock you up. I acted irrationally despite what my bro told me." Mario muttered, "I believed that you two came back with the sole purpose of trying to hurt Luigi again and so I got defensive..."

Dimentio and Mr.L sat there in shock, not sure how to process any of this. This time Blumiere walked forward, causing Dimentio to panic.

"And I am terribly sorry. All those years ago I promised you two something that I knew would never come to fruition. I know that Mr.L was relatively fine with the change of plans but I know that you definitely were not, Dimentio." Blumiere said, "And so, I request your forgiveness."

Blumiere undid the ropes on the chair and stood back. Dimentio and Mr.L held their hands out in front of them as if checking for any more ropes.

"Here," Blumiere said, handing them the book.

Dimentio and Mr.L took the Prognosticus and ran their gloved hand over the book's cover.

"Thank you..." Mr.L and Dimentio murmured.

They stood up holding the book and ran into the hallway. Everyone else quickly followed behind. They stopped to see that he had run to the living room. Dimentio was making the Dark Prognosticus float in front of him and he started flipping through the pages with the gesture of his hand.

"Uh... What are you doing?" Daisy asked.

"Looking for a spell that could get L his own body," Dimentio stated.

"That's what you were trying to get the book for?" Luigi questioned.

"Yes. Why else?" Dimentio asked, "What did you think we were getting it for?"

"Uh... We didn't really know. I just kinda assumed the worst." Mario replied.

"And that is why you should have contacted me sooner," Blumiere stated.

Dimentio or Mr.L scoffed at him and continued looking through the book.

After a few moments of flipping through the pages, he slammed the book shut.

"No, no, no! I don't see anything!" Dimentio shouted.

"I wanted to tell you, but any spell for that kind of separation would only have worked if Mr.L was still a part of Luigi," Blumiere said.

Mr.L let out a shout of frustration and threw the Dark Prognosticus against the wall.

"You're telling me that I'm stuck like this?! ARGH!!!" Mr.L shouted, "It was bad enough thinking this was temporary, it's even worse knowing that I'm stuck with him for the rest of my life!"

Everyone froze and Mr.L realized he just made a mistake.

"Wait! I didn't mean it like that, I swear!" Mr.L quickly exclaimed.

"So that's it. The truth finally comes out." Dimentio spat, "I see when I'm not wanted."

"No! Dim! I didn't mean it! Please!" Mr.L tried to shout.

His yellow eye dulled to a faint color and he collapsed onto the floor on his knees. Tears began to roll down his face.

"Dim left..." Mr.L murmured in disbelief.
