Seven

I eyed the calendar then took a deep breath, looking down at the note I was writing. I quickly finished it then signed it, folding it and trying to think who deserved this the most. Jack, who brought me here and was like my older brother, or Genji, who was quickly becoming my best friend in the world. I shook my head then shouldered my bag, leaving the note on the desk and slipping out, going to the dock. As I got on the boat, I looked up at Gibraltar one last time then I turned the boat on, leaving the dock and heading towards America.

Genji's POV
"Has anyone seen Wrench today?" Hana asked as we sat together for lunch, but I shook my head.

"She missed the installation today too." I said and Commander sighed.

"Genji, go check on her." He said then I stood and went to leave.

"I would not waste your time, Genji. Wrench left early this morning." Athena said and I looked at the ceiling then Commander.

"When, Athena?!" Commander growled, but I ran to the Wrench's room and threw her door open, seeing the room perfectly clean and empty. On her desk was a folded up piece of paper, addressed to 'Whoever finds this first'. I went over then grabbed the paper, opening it and reading it.

I'm sorry, Genji, Jack, for just leaving like this. I promise, I will be back in a week, but I need to go for now. I won't tell you where, you'll just try to stop me, so instead I'll tell you where to go if you want the truth. Jamie and Mako know, they know why this week is so important to me, why I have to go, why I need to be gone for so long. Forgive me, Genji, I missed our installation meetings. I promise to make it up when I get back. And Jack, I know I broke our deal, but I had to tell Jamie and Mako in case you went to find them. I will be back, if you can just wait for me.
Wrench

I slowly sat in the chair then read the letter over and over again.

"Genji?!" I looked up as Commander came in then I handed him the note and he read it.

"Dammit! Athena, gather everyone in the map room!" He snarled then we went to the map room and Commander pulled up Australia, going to a settlement.

"McCree, Hanzo, Genji, and Echo, we're going to Junkertown." He said and they looked confused.

"Wrench has gone somewhere, but the only two people in the world who know where are here." He said and I looked at him.

"Mako and Jamie." He nodded and sighed.

"I had hoped to never see those two crazy idiots again, but we're going to and we're taking the Aurora." He said and Lena sighed.

"I am the only one who can pilot it-"

"Then you will come too. Let's go, we're leaving now." Jack said and we got geared up, going to the Aurora and flying east.

I walked off the ship then eyed the makeshift shack in the middle of the desert.

"This is where they live?" I asked and Commander Morrison silently walked past me. As we got to the door, Commander banged against the door, much to the occupant's annoyance.

"OI! WE'RE TRYING TO SLEEP!"

"Junkrat, it's Jack!" Commander yelled and I heard crashes inside, then the door swung open to reveal a lanky man with one prosthetic arm and leg.

"'Ello, mate! Oi, Roadie, it's the soldier!"

"I heard!" A rough voice yelled from further in and the lanky man grinned.

"Come on in!" He said then we went in, but I eyed the extreme amounts of explosives around here.

"Quite... homey." McCree said and the lanky man turned to us.

"Where's Wrench?!"

"Rat, it's her week." A man said as he emerged from the back, but I swallowed hard as I eyed the man easily as big as Reinhardt.

"Holy shit!" McCree whispered and I cleared my throat.

"She-she disappeared-"

"To America?" Lanky man asked and I nodded.

"She said you two would know why-"

"It's the week she got her scar." The large man said and sat on a couch that very much protested.

"I'm Roadhog-"

"I'm Junkrat!" The lanky man said and hopped over a chair, going into the back.

"Do you know the story of her scar?" Roadhog asked, but we shook our heads and sat.

"Twelve years ago this week, Wrench was kidnapped and experimented on. The experiments were abandoned when the lead scientist was murdered, but the damage was done." Roadhog started and Junkrat came in, sitting on a chair for all of five seconds before getting up and walking around.

"She escaped the facility that took her about five years ago, she killed everyone inside and found her way here to us! We took her in, cared for her wounds, and she hated everyone except for the two of us-"

"RAT, SIT DOWN!" Roadhog roared and I jumped at the tone and volume as Junkrat immediately sat on the ground and didn't move.

"Wrench is sensitive about the facility she escaped, but it was never torn down. It's now in an abandoned town somewhere in the center of the country. She goes back every year, same week a year, and she stays the entire week. She always returns, but there's a part of her that stays and takes longer to return." Roadhog explained and I licked my lips.

"If-if we went to get her-"

"She'd most likely kill you, cyborg. It's best to wait it out, let her return-"

"We can't do that, she's one of us." Commander said and Roadhog sat forward, but I couldn't tell what he was thinking past his face mask.

"Well, then you find that facility and you disturb her? That's your funeral-"

"What if we went with, Roadie?" Junkrat asked and Roadhog looked, but shook his head.

"We don't know where she is, Rat." He said and I huffed.

"Then return to Gibraltar with us, be there when she returns-"

"Genji, are you insane?!" Commander asked, but I glared.

"They're thieves, sure, but they're also her best friends-"

"We'd rather stay." Junkrat said and I nodded.

"Feel free to visit as you please, under my invitation." I added, just to spite the Commander into shutting up.

"Gladly!" Junkrat grinned and we stood to go.

"Cyborg." I looked at Roadhog then he stood, coming towards me and lifting my shirt, exposing my chest.

"This is her work?" He asked and I nodded.

"She cares about you, she'll find you when she returns." He said then let go and I cleared my throat.

"She doesn't like touching, not unless she trusts that person with her life or she's fighting for her life." He said and I nodded.

"Thank you for the heads up." I said and he grunted.

"Get out of here before Junkers scrap your ship, or you." He said then we left, but I was thinking of what the pig man had said.
