"Excuse me?" Roger said standing up by your side.
Your eyes widened.
Was that why you were sick the past month.
No that's impossible.
They would have said something before right? I mean you gave them a pee sample and they did x-rays before and they never said you were pregnant.
It's not like you were pregnant all of a sudden.
You hadn't been with Roger for over a month let alone have time to have sex with him, and you weren't having an affair, no way would you ever even think of having one.
The nurses looked confused although you didn't notice them since you still couldn't see and even if you could, you were too busy in your own mind.
Something didn't feel right.
Maybe that was the pregnancy that made you feel off at this moment.
"No, you're not it was just a joke. sorry, I'm a joker." the doctor said looking happy he tricked you and starting to laugh at his own joke.
You looked at him in shock he just did that but laughed at how easily tricked you were.
"No, you can't do that. You just gave me a fucking heart attack! You are the doctor! You can't joke about something so serious!" Roger started yelling stepping in front of you.
Roger went right up to the doctor and slapped him.
The doctor stumbled back messing up the neat and organized cotton balls and needles and pens that sat on the counter.
"Oh come on man it was one joke," the doctor said as he stood up and kept his hand on his face where Roger hit him.
"No, we are done here. Let her go. We are leaving." Roger said keeping his dominant stance.
"I'm sorry I can't do that." the doctor responded.
"Look, Dr. Powell," Roger said pushing his finger against the doctor's name tag
"That was not something a doctor should do, you scared me and my already scared girlfriend which is beyond rude. So with that, you are going to sign us out, give us the medication and we will be on our way. Otherwise, I could bring you to court for giving a patient false information and because of the two nurses and me as witnesses, you could go to jail or get sued and run out of business."
You were shocked.
Roger wasn't as stupid as everyone made him out to be.
Wasn't just another pretty face, although you did love his pretty face.
The doctor opened his mouth and furrowed his brows but nothing was spoken from him.
Roger walked to you, grabbed the handles on the wheelchair, and went out backward after opening the door.
The doctor and the two nurses stood there wide-eyed.
You were smiling so hard it almost hurt.
The way Roger stood up for you like that made you so gooey in your head you couldn't think straight, forgetting what was happening until you abruptly stopped at the check-out counter.
"Hi, I'm checking out my girlfriend," Roger said to the same old woman that checked you in both times, although you only remembered the one time after the beach incidence.
"I'm sorry sir you can't do that." She said looking up with only her eyes from the computer she was currently typing at.
Her hands were still focused on writing as she clicked the clunky keyboard, one white key at a time.
"And why is that?"
"Because Dr. Powell has not excused Y/N from the hospital."
"Actually they can go, they are already." The doctor said from behind you.
You didn't even hear his loafers walking up.
"But Dr. Powell they-"
"Betty they are fine. This office just didn't work for Ms. Y/N. She will be going to a different hospital."
The lady didn't say anything.
"Take care, the two of you. Again I'm very sorry. Y/N I would recommend still getting a scan, I can refer you to someone."
"No thanks," Roger said, turned your wheelchair, and left.
You could just faintly hear over the bustle of the hospital and the loudspeaker calling a Louise Virgillto to Room 54, "Dan what the hell happened to your face?"
