"Leah, what are you doing here?" You asked her.
"I wanted to see how you were."
"I'm really sorry Leah. I shouldn't have said any of that, it was all pointless and wasn't real at all."
"It's alright. We both said things. I shouldn't have said the things I did. We were both drunk." You went and hugged her.
The only thing you wanted at this time. Well, one of the only things.
Her arms wrapped around your body. Her tight grasp on you comforted you like if you were a small child. Scared of a nightmare, a slight fantasy in your head taunting you, but she's there. Leah is right there for you, you knew she would always be right there for you.
"Roger-he...he..." You stuttered as you sniffed up the snot coming from your red nose.
She soothed you as you could barely speak of what happened.
"It's alright." She said and wiped the few strands of hair sticking to your wet face away.
"Do you wanna go to my flat and talk about it?"
"Ok." You simply said.
You got out of the car as she did the same. You walked around to the passenger seat and Leah walked towards the driver's side.
"Tea?" Leah called from the kitchen as you sat on the couch fiddling with a small tassel on the corner of a velvet green pillow.
"Earl Grey." You told her as you watched she already had the teabag in her hand. You smiled at her knowledge and memory.
Your comfort tea.
That warm feeling as the liquid slid down your torso felt almost as good as if all of this never happened.
She handed you the white and red teacup steaming full of clear brown liquid.
You took a small sip and felt it as it travels through your body. Instantly warming your body and partially your mind.
A box of tissues sat in front of you along with a stack of magazines about fashion and design and a set of blue crystal coasters. You grabbed one and set your cup on it.
"Ok tell me what happened," Leah asked as she sat down with her matching teacup.
She took a sip and set it on a coaster.
"Well, I was thinking about what you said last night-"
"I didn't mean any of -" She cut you off.
"No, but you were right." You cut her off.
"What?" She asked, seemingly confused. "I told him-"
"Roger?" She filled in.
"Yeah. I told him what we said and he admitted something to me." You went on. Scared to say the next part.
"No-" She seemed to piece what he did together in her mind. "He kissed a girl."
"When?" She asked. "After our first date."
You had too many things running through your mind to answer all her questions right now.
"But weren't you guys like-" Leah asked.
"Yeah. Or at least I thought we were."
A knock came from the door. You both jumped.
"I'll get it," Leah said jumping up.
She looked out the peek hole. "It's Roger."
"Tell him I'm not here. I'm gonna hide." You walked over to the kitchen, away from his sight from the door.
"Hey, Roger." You heard around the corner.
"Hey Leah, is Y/N here?" He asked.
You could hear him loudly.
You faced the corner. You held your face in your hands.
"No why would she be? Is everything ok?" She lied.
"Leah come on..." He said.
"What?" She stuck with it.
"There's a mirror right there." You turned around and saw the small mirror and was met with Roger's reflection.
"Shit," you muttered.
"Hi." he mouthed.
You walked around the corner.
His eyes were bloodshot red which made his blue eyes pop. His nose had a bright red tint on it, matching your red eyes and nose.
If you didn't know what had happened, you would've thought he was on drugs.
"I just wanted to make sure you were ok."
"You think I would be ok right now?" You didn't mean to sound so sarcastic. "I-Uhm just-"
"Rog, you should leave," Leah spoke up.
He nodded and turned around.
You sat on the couch and Leah shut the door.
You looked at your teacup. The liquid had small ripples. You noticed Leah's also had ripples in it, getting bigger and bigger and bigger.
Your whole body was shaking.
Leah fell down as the shakes got harder and harder.
A few plates fell off the counters in the kitchen.
A loud crash came from outside.
"Get under something!" You yelled to Leah as you climbed under the coffee table.
Another crash came from outside. A notably loud crash.
The shakes ended.
You watched Leah slid out of the small table that stood by the front door.
"DON'T GET UP!" You yelled at her.
She stopped and went back under.
A small set of rumbles came and ended in a matter of seconds although it felt like hours.
"Ok," you said and slid out.
"What was that?" Leah asked.
"An earthquake." You said and walked towards the door.
You opened it and saw a body at the end of the staircase.
The denim jacket, the blonde hair. You knew that motionless body. "ROGER!" You yelled and ran as quick as you could down the steps.
He groaned and twitched his arm.
You kneeled down on the ground.
"What happened?" You asked him.
"He probably stumbled down the steps." Marnie walked up and said.
