tw// mention of death & arson
The next morning Dream and George joke around about last night and how they were both drunk. It hurts George a little, because he wasn't actually drunk and hoped Dream meant the kiss. He's not too upset though because they're not actually dating or anything, of course he didn't mean the kiss. Dream doesn't owe him anything.
Even though it's a Sunday, Dream has to go into the company to work on a new idea he's developing. Now George sits in bed with nothing to do and nobody to talk to. That is, until his phone rings.
"Hello?" George says, not bothering to even check who is calling.
"George," Alex says on the other end. "I have great news."
"What is it?" George asks, sitting up in his seat.
"So I forgot to tell you yesterday at the club but I went over to your family's house and I think I saw the box you were talking about," Alex says.
George's eyes widen and he smiles to himself. "Really? Where was it? You better not be lying to me Alex."
"I'm not lying. It was in a room upstairs, I don't know whose it is I just peeked in and saw it under some papers," Alex says.
"How are we going to get it?" George asks.
"I think you mean how are you going to get it," Alex chuckles.
"No, you're the one that let him into your warehouse in the first place so that he could take the papers. Now, you're going to help me get them back," George says, listening as Alex groans in complaint on the other end of the phone. "We can sneak into the house when nobody's home, it'll be easy."
"That doesn't sound easy," Alex mumbles, and George can practically hear his eyes rolling.
"Come on, we can go later today and get the papers, everything will be fine. You don't even have to go in, just keep watch or something," George says matter-of-factly.
"Fine, I guess I'll be there at 8 to pick you up," Alex says. George agrees and the two hang up.
George has a lot to plan over the next few hours, and much quiet alone time to do so. He spends a lot of this time just wondering where to go in, which room the box could possibly be in, and much more. Alex said it was in a room upstairs, so it must be one of the bedrooms. The most plausible one would be his father's, but George can't see him sleeping in the same room with those documents.
He wonders if Wilbur knows the documents are there. If he does, why are they still in tact? George remembers the lengths his twin had gone through to destroy those in the first place, so why wouldn't he do the same now?
There's so many questions, but no answers.

Alex shows up late, as always, and picks George up. Dream is still at the office, so luckily the brunette doesn't get a lecture or a billion questions directed at him.
"Do you know how you're going to do this?" Alex asks, driving the two of them to George's old house.
"Yeah, I'll just sneak into my old room then figure things out from there. You remember the secret place to park from when we used to sneak out before," George says, remembering in the past how Alex would help him sneak out whenever they wanted to go to parties.
"Are we going to get arrested? Or even worse, caught by your father?" Alex complains, driving extra slow as to hopefully change the Brit's mind before arriving.
"We'll be fine, stop being such a baby," George says. "And drive faster, we're never getting back at this rate."
"Fine fine," Alex says. "If the cops show up, I'm leaving your ass."
