tw// mention of death/suicide

Walking through the lonely halls is a feeling George is very much used to. He's used to the silence that comes from his house. How everyone only talks when they need something. Now, though, George walks to his room to find a tuxedo.

Heart disease.

They say she died from heart disease.

But George knows that's not true.

George knows his mother didn't have any heart diseases. He knows she was perfectly fine, so what happened? Her funeral is today, and George possesses a document that has just about everything making sense.

Overdose.

The real cause of death.

The brunette knows there was a reason for this. His mother was never suicidal. Sure, she was quite unhappy with her life, but never wanted to kill herself. He hopes to get to the bottom of this.

George knows too much about his family secrets. He knows far too much that puts him at risk against all of them. He even knows his own mother's secrets, but it seems that those are practically useless by now. Perhaps not, though, but those are the least of his concerns.

Making it to his room, George quietly changes into a black suit and tie, dressed classy and simple, perfect for a funeral.

He stores the autopsy papers in a safe for now, opting to move them to a different location later. By now, everyone else is at the funeral home getting things ready, but not George. George is now making his way to his brother's room.

Wilbur knows something. He must, he's been acting weird lately and George knows what that means. He hacks into his brother's computer and searches for a few minutes, only finding business related things. It's weird to see business things on Wilbur's computer, he's nowhere near inheriting the company yet. George shrugs this off and keeps looking.

His email.

On his email George finds messages from Wilbur to his mother. These messages contain everything. Secrets, blackmail, news. Most importantly, though, are the concerning messages talking about letters.

George prints out all of the concerning emails then makes his way to his mother's room.

His mother's room is empty, cold and lonely now. His father and mother never really slept in the same room. Well, they had stopped sleeping in the same room at some point in their marriage, George doesn't know. He never knew what that meant for them. He knew both of them had their fair share of affairs. He's always been caught in the middle of those, debating whether or not he should tell anyone. He's always decided against this, though, figuring they already knew.

Inside his mother's room George finds nothing special at first. There's clothes, jewelry, books, normal things.

There's a golden box under her bed.

The box is almost taunting to George, and he struggles to open it up, hands shaky.

Getting the top off of the box, George looks through its contents. These are letters, presumably the ones Wilbur had messaged her about. There are plenty of them, at least twenty envelopes already opened.

George's eyes widen at the sight of these letters. They aren't exactly the nicest of notes.

One in particular catches his eyes.
