~Flashback~
"You useless fool!"
Nezetta was just passing by the corridor of House Silva when she heard something fragile hit the ground and break. She glances at the door ajar to her right, finding her big sister glaring down at the youngest of them all. Pieces of a broken plate was just beside Noelle's feet, and Nezetta clearly saw that one managed to scrape her foot. It was beginning to bleed, small drops of blood plucking down the marble floor.
"You're good for nothing at all! I wish Mother never sacrificed her life for you!"
Nebra raises her hand up to slap the quivering Noelle, but before skin comes in contact with skin, her wrist was grabbed tightly and another figure stood before her. Nezetta's free hand was raised slightly to the side as a motion to protect their youngest sister from the older's fury.
Her eyes held anger that no one else could ever unleash from her but her siblings. "Nebra," she said coldly.
There was not an ounce of respect in her tone.
She didn't even care to call her their big sister.
"If you're going to continue acting like this to Noelle, then I'm afraid to say that you're nothing but a shame once you stand before Mother." She said. "She sacrificed her own life for Noelle. If you can't do the same thing to your own blood, then you're no sister."
Nezetta tossed her hand to the side and turned to Noelle, picking her up from the ground to lead her away from the infuriated Nebra. "You--!"
Nebra tries to attack from behind, but Nezetta was able to block off her attack easily without having to turn back around. She continued to walk until they reached the balcony of Nezetta's room, the only place where she knows none of her siblings would dare walk into. Her room is her own safe space, and everyone has acknowledged that no one else could enter without her permission.
Doing so will result in many consequences that she could care less to elaborate than show.
She sits Noelle on the cushioned seat near the railing as her grimoire flew to her side. "Is this your only injury?" She asks, easily healing the wound on her foot with the basic healing magic that she was beginning to master.
"Why are you so nice to me?" Noelle sniffles, unable to contain her tears any longer. Her fists pushed themselves on her lap forcefully as she hiccups. "Everyone else hates me f-for killing Mother, but..."
"You didn't kill her, Noelle." Nezetta sighed, quite annoyed because she knew that their elder siblings were the reason why Noelle was beating herself up with her own words in the first place. She doesn't deserve such treatment, and she knew that it would have been better if Nozel didn't follow through with his own plan. It only broke their family apart.
What is left of their family, that is.
"They're mournful because Mother isn't here with us anymore, and I can understand that, but that doesn't give them the excuse to pour their frustrations to you." She stands up straight when she realized that the wound was completely healed now. There were no visible scars left on her skin either, making her smile a little to herself at her accomplishment. "If they ever bother you again, just come find me, alright? It would be best if you can avoid it, though, so maybe you should start sticking around me more often."
"But..." Noelle looks up at her elder sister, eyes still glossy because of her tears. Though she was smiling, she can see the lingering sorrow in Nezetta's vibrant orbs. Growing up, she never had the greatest chance to be close to any of her siblings. Because Nezetta would often go out on her own and train, Noelle could only watch her whenever she comes back home tiredly. "...you're sad too."
