Nezetta's PoV
A week passed since I returned to the kingdom, and I have been going in and out of the royal capital to fulfill daily missions that are near the country's borders. There were too many members already helping within the capital, so it was only reasonable that I ask for missions outside. Captain Vangeance didn't have any complaints when I made that request, so it was fine.
I usually take the hardest missions in the squad, some would fall on Langris. Since he's the vice captain, he would be frequently needed within the base, so he can't take as much missions as before when he was only a squad member. It's a good thing, though.
Less chances of him and I going on joint missions.
Julius would also summon me in his office for the preparations in finding the traitor among us. I helped him stage everything with Marx, who is the one responsible in the interrogation to the criminals we managed to capture so far. That included the old men that we caught during my joint mission with Yuno, Mimosa, and Klaus.
As usual, I made my way to the captain's office to hear about today's task. I entered the office when I heard his signal from inside and saw the trio inside again. I gulped. "It seems like you're still not done, so I'm just going to wait outside and—"
"Hold on, Zetta."
I stopped from turning my body to the door, flinching at my captain's smooth yet warning tone. Who wouldn't remember such a tone, anyway?
Captain Vangeance is known to be the calm and collected captain, even his warnings are calm. However, it only makes them even scarier.
I looked over my shoulder and smiled nervously. "Yes?"
"You'll be accompanied by these three today." He only smiles warmly at me, closing his eyes as he did so.
This captain, seriously.
"Is that so?" I straightened my posture and faced them again, plastering a tolerating smile on my face. He really wants me to get along with these three, but why them?
Is there something about them that I should know about or something?
"Seeing as you have been frequently leaving the capital to fulfill your tasks, I assign you to patrol around the capital today. We can't have you overworking again." He says.
I looked at my juniors (aside from Klaus), and saw Mimosa smiling as she waved at me excitedly. Yuno was motionless, but a small smirk was plastered on his lips as he looked at me. My eyebrow twitched at that. "Just a patrol for the whole day?"
"Yes, but before that, Master Julius asked for you to go to his office again."
"Now?"
"Yes, that's all. The four of you are dismissed."
I held the door open for the three to walk out first, but Yuno only stood behind me and held the edge of it himself after the other two walked out. "I can't have a royal hold the door open for me, a woman at that." He says.
"It's a door, gender or status doesn't matter in such things."
"Just get out."
"Not until you do."
"Not a chance."
"Are we seriously arguing over this?"
"We wouldn't if you just walk out."
I scowled. His smug smirk only makes me want to punch it right out of his pretty face.
I didn't notice the look our captain was giving us as we were arguing right in front of him, over a freaking door. "I'm technically your senior."
