Nezetta's PoV
I have two days to prepare before we attack the Spade Kingdom to stop the ritual and retrieve Captain Vangeance and Yami. If I want this plan to succeed, then I can't afford to be excess luggage on this one. Everyone needs to bring maximum capacity of their powers to take them back.
We are up against devils. We got a taste of their power during the Eye of the Midnight Sun incident, and me against Dante with Yami and Asta. Technically, anti-magic seems to be the only thing that can majorly harm them.
For now, at least.
If we want to succeed, then we will have to train ourselves to be able to stand against those devils on our own. We can't just rely on Asta, after all. Because I was cursed, I was granted to use curse powers to fight against the devils. I embraced it, turned it into my own and discovered new spells that I can use anytime I want because of it. It was my chance against them.
It was my chance to bring back William and Yami from those bastards.
"Nezetta! Oi, you royal airhead!"
I felt a desperate tug coming from the side of my head. My eyes drifted to the corner of my eyes to see Alexandrite pulling in my hair. His teeth were gritted together as he did his best in gaining my attention. It almost made me laugh at how stupid he looked like, but I bit my tongue and didn't say anything about his facial expression.
"What?" My chest rumbled lightly in amusement.
"You've been walking for awhile now. Where are we even going?"
Right.
I was going to use this time to train myself with this spirit's power. Alexandrite was an opportunity that I will be sure to make use of with everything I have. His appearance was convenient too.
If I get myself to at least get a hold of half the power he'll provide me with and train my body to keep up with the insane magic power I will be given, there is a bigger chance for me to stand against the Dark Triad.
If I am estimating things right, I will be able to match at least one of them in strength and skill. That is if I am thinking positively. It is possible, despite how complicated it may seem to be.
"I found this clearing awhile ago during training." I stopped in the middle of a clearing surrounded by tall trees. I am pretty sure that no one will be able to find me here. The place itself is secluded and located by the outskirts of the Common Realm.
"So, uh...." Alexandrite hovers in front of me with an unsure expression.
He was awkwardly scratching the back of his head with one hand while the other was clenching open and close out of nervousness. I didn't get why he was suddenly being like that. He was usually loud, like Bell, ever since he made his appearance.
"What?" I sigh.
"You and that Spade prince, huh..."
At the mention of Yuno, I turned my head to the side and folded my arms over my chest. I didn't want to think about that matter for now. It hurt me, to say the least, that he actually tried convincing me that I should stay behind and defend the kingdom rather than join the invasion.
I was almost sure that he himself was reluctant of the thought, and that he knew that I will enter the battlefield one way or another. However, I cannot fully blame him why he tried to stop me.
He was worried, and that was normal for anyone. If anything, I didn't want him to wage into war either.
It all came down to which path you'll follow.
