Third Person View
"Excellent work. Nothing less expected from the four of you."
Upon arriving back in the Golden Dawn's base, Nezetta and the trio quickly made their way to the Captain's office and reported their mission in detail. It was safe to say that the masked captain was more than impressed that the three were able to actually cooperate with Nezetta.
Based from the years she's been in the Golden Dawn, she always prefers to do things on her own. This brought limitations to what she can do when having to team up with her other squad members. Yet, Klaus, Mimosa, and Yuno were able to blend with her well. There were barely any complications in the mission too.
"Nezetta, you're dismissed. The three of you, please stay for a little longer."
The Silva did not complain and only saluted before leaving the room, barely sparing a glance at the three she worked with. As the door closes, William plants his elbows on the smooth surface of his desk and laced his fingers.
"This is the first time the three of you worked with a squad member of higher ranking. What have you observed?"
"Observed...?" Mimosa's confused face gave it away.
"Working with someone who takes the hardest missions in the squad. It's only given that her fighting style is different from the rest."
"Her magic is nothing special." Yuno, who was the brave one to go first, boldly stated what he saw.
"Yuno!" Klaus warns.
"I'm not done." The stoic prince said. "It's nothing special. Crystal magic is a common affinity, but she makes it stronger in her own way. If I'm not mistaken, her main weapon is her wits."
"Exactly, magic is only an instrument to her. In fact, she doesn't care what kind of magic people possess, but how they use it to their advantage. It is what makes Nezetta different and unpredictable."
"Now that we thought about it, she knew what was happening before we could even gather enough evidence." Klaus whispers.
"So far, she's the closest to becoming the next Golden Dawn captain."
The three were flabbergasted. They always thought that it was Langris who was the closest to being captain, seeing as he is the current right hand of William himself. To think that a 16-year old girl who they only knew about now is actually the one with the most potential is rather odd.
"Do you know why?"
"Because she's strong?" Mimosa asks.
"Because she uses this." William points to his heart. "She is a royal, yet she never lets social status define a person. Protecting the people is her priority. It is what makes her a true warrior."
"Protecting the children and defeating the enemy at the same time." Yuno remembers how she was quick to summon her barrier. She never let her guard down until the citizens were safe, causing her quick counter to the situation. "If she is the closest to being captain, then she's considered a rival too."
"If only she didn't decline my offer of being vice captain, then she would've set a perfect example to everyone." William sighs.
"She was already given an offer?!"
"Anyway, I expect the three of you to follow her example. Don't let pride and greed blind you."
"Yes, sir!"
***Nezetta sits atop the roof of the base, smiling softly at the sight of the twinkling stars lighting up the blanket of darkness. It has been awhile since she last caught the view from the roof of their base. Because of her incessant missions, her body almost forgot how to relax.
