Third Person View
"That took you awhile."
Nezetta looks at the raven returning to his spot on the chariot. Unlike earlier, he has Bell sitting on his shoulder. Nezetta curiously narrows her vision to the creature and noticed it looking back at her with a glare of her own. She huffs, pettily folding her arms over her chest and turning away with her nose pointed upward.
"What's her deal?" Nezetta thought.
"We're here." Klaus said from in front of the chariot. He pushes his glasses up his nose, his eyes focused on what's ahead of him. Nezetta looks down her broom to see them just crossing the entrance of the town. She pats away any dust particles that may have stuck on her black leggings as she stands from her broom.
"Let's go to the village hall first. Their mayor should give us all the details we need." She shoots down the ground before her squad members could put a word in. Jumping down her broom, she carefully landed on the ground and caught her broom from the air.
She sees the commoners vacating the town looking at her in awe, their eyes catching sight of the Golden Dawn robe immediately. The trio lands behind her soon after, not wasting any time to hold her back. "You should know how to wait for your comrades." Yuno says stiffly.
"Sorry, not used to this group thing." Nezetta lifts her hands in defense. Yuno only sighs and rolled his eyes at her. The two of them followed Klaus and Mimosa to the town hall, where they were able to meet the village leader himself.
"I didn't sense anyone suspicious while we were on our way here." Mimosa says after the mayor explained the situation to them.
"They kidnapped the children in broad daylight." Mayor Waldo said. "Missing for almost a whole day now, and the parents are restless."
Behind Klaus and Mimosa, Yuno hears Nezetta mumbling to herself beside him. He glances at her, getting a look of her tranced figure as she let herself drown in her own thoughts. He almost thought that the girl's head would explode any time because of her excessive thinking.
"Overconfidence? No, they were clearly sending out a message during the kidnap. If they are associated to the bandits from yesterday, then the children may be needed for something too. Not to mention, the old man said we'll delay the shipment, so they haven't left the town yet." She bites down her lip. "They might even come back for another horde. Later at night? Should we wait for them to strike? No, that will put us at a disadvantage."
"We will do our best to find them as soon as possible. Please, leave this dilemma to the magic knights." Klaus reassured the town leader, which immediately put them at ease. He nodded and left the four to plan their next move in retaliation to the criminals.
Both Mimosa and Klaus turned to Yuno and Nezetta. "It seems like they also don't know much about the perpetrators." Klaus sighed. "We will have to work our way around scrap."
"All we need is to trace their footsteps." Nezetta snapped her fingers, grinning as she looks up at her squad mates. "Did the mayor say anything about the gang's features?"
"No, all he said was the commoners managed to see one of them leaving with a big sack. There were children screaming and crying for help from the inside of it." Mimosa says.
"Where did they spot him?"
"In the plaza."
"Their movements seem reckless." Nezetta scowled. "They were obviously expecting us to arrive, seeing as there were two who went out of their way to stop us. Are they..."
"Leading us into a trap?" Yuno speaks up beside her, catching on to her train of thought. Nezetta nods in response, combing back her waist-length hair.
