I heard her every word and knowing she suffered too made me feel better and worse at the same time.Why didn't Jefferson told me that this would suck like this?!

I went downstairs and found her singing and cooking with a little boy.She would either carry him or put him on the counter.They looked happy togather.

Jefferson came at me from behind."You creep."I rolled my eyes."You forgave her?"I nodded."I didn't want to!I just did!"He shrugged."Meh.I'm surprised she took this long."

I turned to him."She wasn't supposed to come back,Jefferson.She left for good.She didn't tell you she wasn't coming back and I couldn't tell you she wasn't coming back but she came back."

"For you,by the way.You seem to forget that,Calder."I rolled my eyes."I did forget that but she made it very clear that she came back for me.Though,she hasn't changed one bit."

"She looks different to me.""Maybe.But she's still the same useless whore."He looked at me with anger."Stop calling her that!""She said it herself!Stop harrassing me about it!"

"It doesn't make it less bad.""She still doesn't obey me and she is still not hesitating to raise her voice at me.She is still the same pain in the ass."

"She is a pain in the ass."I got mad."Call her a pain in the ass again and I'll show you pain in the ass,Jefferson.Don't fucking push me.""Fine!"

"And uh...I bet everything I have that once you start talking and you find a way to piss her off,she will raise her brows at you and make you question all of your life choices up until that moment."

"You're on,Calder."I went up to the rudder and started watching how she tried to teach him how to walk.Which would explain why she was carrying him all the time.

A while later,Jefferson came in with my breakfast."You can keep everything you have because she did raised her brows at me and made me question every choice I have ever made."

"Told you.""You're incredibly happy she's back,aren't you?!"I looked up from the map in front of me."I still hate her.That hasn't changed.I would insult the boy but she'd kill me for it."

"Yeah,he calls her mom.""I know.When she mentioned him by name,I didn't think it would turn out to be a four year old kid!"

"You were jealous of a four year old?!Oh,Lord,grow up!"I stood up."You start going back to the way you were or I'm going to cut your throat wide open,Jefferson."

"Message received."He left the study.I came out and called out to Nox.She was there just a minute ago!When the hell did she go missing?!

I frantically went down to the deck,I looked into the kitchen and finally found her downstairs with that boy."Ezra,you need to sleep,you're tired.Come on."

"No!""Ezra!"He kept pouting at her and I knew she was going to do something about that if she loves him anything like she loved Willow.

"If I sing to you,will you take a nap?"Bribery.That seems like her."What are you going to sing?Can you sing with the one who calls all children to a garden?"She nodded."Alright.Close your eyes."

He closed his eyes and she took in a deep breath.

"Come little children,I'll take thee away.Into a land of enchantment.Come little children,the time's come to play.Here in my garden of shadows."

"Follow sweet children,I'll show thee the way.Through all the pain and the sarrowes.Weep not poor children,for life is thsi way.Murdering beauty and passions."

Ezra was fast asleep half way through her song."Nox?"She turned her head my way."How long have you been there?""To the study."She shook her head."I can't.He just fell asleep."

"So?To the study.""So,if I leave now,he wakes up again.Then,I will have to convince him all over again.You don't know the cycle he puts me through every day!"

"If he's that hard to take care of,why do you do this?""Simple.I love him."She gave me a weirded out look."He's not even your son.Nor your brother."

"He is but I won't get into detail now.If you want to talk,have  a seat."She straightened up with Ezra on her lap.I sat down in front of them.

"Why this long,Nox?Why did it take you this fucking long if you were that hurt?""I had no other choice.They expected me to be there with them the second I turned 18 and I left them!"

"So,what?!If you were going to leave,why didn't you leave then?""I couldn't!I had Willow.I had to take care of him first!Then I lost him and I had no other reason to stay!"

"No other reason?!No other reason,Nox?!""I'm sorry if I was a fucking idiot for leaving you behind but I wanted to leave!You think I didn't try to see through all of it?!"

She scoffed."I tried to forget you!I focused on the others,I focused on Ezra...The more I tried the more it hurt,so I came back!"I stood up and left.

Why did I leave now?!Why am I leaving now?I turned back there and sat back down in front of her."What now?!""Why was I mad at you again?Because if you think about it,you did come back."

"Go back to hating me,you asshole!Leave!""Fuck off,Nox!My ship!"She backed away."Excuse you?!You killed my father and my mother for this ship!It passes onto me!Not you!"

"Your father was the captain.Fuck off.I'm your captain.""No,you aren't.You're being delusional again!"Then Ezra woke up."Mom,some of us are trying to sleep here."

All the annoyance in her face faded away and she gave him a soft smile."I'm sorry.I'm sorry,we're going to let you be.Alright?"He nodded and went back to sleeping on her chest.

"Calder,leave!"

The very second Calder left,Ezra looked up at me."You left me behind for him?""I didn't leave you behind,Z.For the last time,baby,I didn't leave you.I was going to come back."

"Let's say I believe you,mom.You came back for him?Azazel is outside,he would be much better for you,mom."I rolled my eyes."My three year old son is not going to be a part of my love life."

"I like Azazel much better.""You just sleep and take your nap.Otherwise,you are not coming with me while I go for a swim tonight."He pouted."Fine!""That's my good boy."
