I came back a day before I said I would.It was dark and Ezra had already fallen asleep.I went to the study to go to my bedroom.However,Calder was wide awake and he was drinking.

"You're awake?""Great!Now,I'm hallucinating!Am I that drunk yet?"I chuckled."You're not hallucinating.I'm came earlier."I went to my bedroom and tucked Ezra in.

"Come on,let's get you upstairs."He shook his head."No,we're both staying here."He caged me in his arms as he sat on his desk chair.

"You're drunk and you have to go to sleep.""No,you're back and I need you,not sleep."I smiled."As much as I appreciate this,you have to go to sleep."

"I'm not going to let you go nor will I let you take me upstairs."I sighed."Fine."I hugged him back."Much better when you don't resist,right?"

I rolled my eyes."Good night,Calder.""Good night,love."Soon,I was deep asleep.Next morning,I woke up with Ezra,trying to pull me by my hand.

"Ezra?""Mom,can you come back to bed?"I smiled and let go of Calder to go with Ezra but then Calder woke up."What's wrong?""Go upstairs,Calder."

Instead,he pulled me back onto his lap and got Ezra too."Not happening.""Calder,please."He looked at me after he took a glance at Ezra."He's asleep and I'd like to be too."

I looked down at Ezra and by the time I turned back to Calder,he was asleep too.I leaned my head back on Calder's chest and fell right back asleep.

We were all fine until Jefferson came knocking."Come in!"I sighed."Calder,shut up.Ezra is still asleep."He put my head back onto his chest.

"What do you want,Jefferson?""What am I seeing?Let's begin with that."I rolled my eyes."What do I look like I'm doing?"He sat down.

"To me,you look like you are sleeping with a married woman and her adopted son."I scoffed."In some twisted,magical way,Ezra is her son.If she wanted to be with him,she wouldn't be here."

"I'm a widow,by the way."I looked down at Nox."What?"She lazily got her head up from my chest.

"I left to go to the memorial of one of my guards' mother but I had to leave early.On my way back,I stopped by Marseille.Learned that Lamar died from cancer a few months ago."

"You went to Marseille to see Lamar?"She looked down at Ezra."It has been a whole year since I've been there.I wanted to see him and thank him for his help."

I turned back to Jefferson."Jefferson,leave."He closed the door behind himself as I turned to Nox."Care to elaborate?"She shook her head and laid her head back on my chest.

"He knew I didn't want to get married to him and I would much rather stay with you.He understood that I had to leave everything behind.He knew I was a Siren,Calder."

She stood up with Ezra."Since everything is coming out.The guard that lost his mother,he kissed me knowing I had feelings for you.That's why I left early.I didn't want to stay close to him."

I stood up."Excuse me?Who?You know what?Don't fucking answer.I'm going to kill that fucking bastard."She scoffed."Sure.Let me know when you find the kingdom,Calder."

"No one,and I mean no one,gets to touch what is mine!My ship!My crew!My woman!"She shook her head.After putting Ezra into her room.

"As far as I know,I'm not yours,Calder.And,Jefferson is right.I might be a widow now but that doesn't make me any less married."

IS SHE TRYING TO DRIVE ME CRAZY?!

"Calder,just because you love me or I love you,doesn't make yours!""You are finally driving me into complete madness,Nox!Why won't you just fucking leave me be?!"

"Leave you be?!The second I leave you,you'll fucking lose it!That's why!Don't fucking come at me like this and ask me why I won't leave you!Neither of us want me to leave you!"

"I will kill that guy!Do you hear me,Nox?!You are mine!End of discussion!"She chuckled."No!You need to start understanding!I'm not yours!"

"You are!Mine to love!Mine to hate!Mine to hold!Mine to call a whore!Mine to sleep next to!And most importantly,mine to kiss!Do we have an understatement?!"

"I can't deal with you right now,Calder.I seriously can't."I picked her up and got her between me and the wall behind her."You have no fucking choice but to be mine."

"Why do I don't have another choice?Because I should have another choice."I was starting to calm down as I had her closer to me.

She is mind-numbingly gorgeous.I leaned deeper into her neck."You have no fucking clue about fucking mad I am right now.""Really?You don't look nor sound mad to me."

I just want to rip off his fucking shirt off!"Fuck it."I pulled him by the face to kiss him.His hands ran up and down my thighs and I felt his hand slowly sneaking its way between my thighs.

"Calder...""Don't even fucking try.You want this as much as I do."I nodded."But,unlike you,I have a son that is sleeping at the other side of the wall."

He dropped me and took me up to the bedroom.That's when I started to freak out even though I wanted him.I got really nervous,you have no idea!

He took his shirt off and I gave it back to him."I can't,no.""And why is that?"I got him to sit down with me at the edge of his bed."I can't risk the possiblity of getting pregnant.I just can't."

"You can't keep doing this,Nox.You kiss me and then,right when it gets to that point,you back out.Every single time.Is it such a bad thing that you get pregnant with my kid?"

I backed away for a second."Are you fucking kidding me?No,seriously,are you kidding me?"He was about to put his hand on me but I jumped off the bed.

"I should wake Ezra up.Or else,he won't be tired enough to take his midday nap."I completely bailed on him and went to get Ezra.

I brushed his hair off his face and kissed his chubby cheeks and his forehead."Good morning,baby.It's time to wake up."He rolled over to my lap and hugged my waist.

"A bit longer,mommy.I promise I'll wake up later."I sighed."How about you and I go get some breakfast?Then,we will spent the entire day in bed,sleeping.What do you say?"

"What if I get bored or you get bored of me?"I made him sit straight."Get bored of you?Ezra,baby,that is impossible!I love you and I love spending time with you."

"So,you won't ge bored of me?"I smiled."Never!You hear me,young man?Never!"He nodded."And if you get bored,I have a few toys that your uncle Willow used to play with."

"I have an uncle?"I nodded."You had three uncles.Your uncle Nathan,Noah and then your uncle Willow.But your uncle Willow and Noah got sick.It was really hard for me back then."

"I'M sorry,mommy.I didn't mean to upset you."I sniffed and wiped off the single tear."I'm not upset.I just miss them a little.That's it,sweetie.Now,what do you say?"

"Alright.Let's go get some breakfast.Uncle Jefferson probably made something.""If he didn't,I'll cook for you.Let's go."
