After the photoshoot,I talked and discussed with the photographer.I got him to mail me the photos.Then I called the magazine to discuss the details.

By the time I dealt with everything and everybody,it was late.Almost 8pm.The traffic was driving me crazy!Ezra called me when I was stuck at a red light.

"You are not back and I'm waiting with a buttload of Chinese food in the house."I smiled."You ordered Chinese!Awe...You do love me.However,I'm stuck in traffic."

He sighed in relief."Thank God!I got the Chinese but I'm stuck in traffic too.""Why would you lie?!"I turned my head over and saw that Ezra was the car next to me.

"Sweetie,turn to your right."He saw me and waved."Let's just go home."We came to the penthouse and right when we were in the kitchen,checking out what Ezra got,door bell rang.

"I'll get it."I grabbed my noodle and the chopsticks before answering the door."Damien,right?"He nodded."Live downstairs,right under you."

I saw the little cutie behind him."Who is this pretty princess?""That'd be my daughter.Kind of why I came.I don't trust my downstairs neighbor,would you mind looking out for her?"

"Uhm...Let me ask my son."I opened the door."Come in.I'll be back in a few."I closed the door behind him and went to the kitchen."Ezra?"

"I heard.Sure,why not?"I nodded.I came back to Damien."How long will you be gone for?"He sighed."I'm not really sure.It's my mother.I don't want Gina in the hospital."

"Oh my...I hope she gets better soon.Do you have any of her stuff in case you come back late?"He handed me a pink,sparkly bag."This would be it."

Ezra came."Hey man."They had their dude-ish greeting thing."Ezra,man,I appreciate this.I didn't know she was your mom,though."

"I know!"I flexed a little."Happens when you have a kid at 15.Not that it's a reasonable age.It just happened to happen.No regrets though."

Ezra got me under his arm."I heard about your mom.I'd lose it if something happened to mine."I smiled."Awe..."Then the door got knocked again.

"I should go."Ezra offered to walk out Damien.I picked up Gina and we went to the kitchen."Do you like chicken?"She nodded."If it's spicy,we can order you some.Alright?"

"I like spicy chicken.Daddy always makes my chickens a little spicy."I smiled."Alrighty,then."Ezra came in hesitantly."So,we have a slight problem.That's if you call Calder a problem."

"I don't call him a problem but why aren't you letting him in?I have a few bonest o pick with him."Calder came into the kitchen."I already let him in,mom."

"Who's the little one?Tell me you adopted her with Delilah and I will lose it!"I rolled my eyes."Our neighbor's daughter,Calder.So,no yelling."

I put Gina on the kitchen island.I got my noodle."To my study.Go on."I turned around."Taek your eyes off her and I will rip you apart.""I know you will mom!Deal with your boyfriend first!"

I gave Calder a look."Boyfriend?Hodl my food.Touch it and I'll rip your heart out.That's worse!"I went back to the kitchen and covered Gina's ears.

"He's not my boyfriend.He's my husband.Ezra,you walked me down that aisle,for fuck's sake!You were 3 not a moron!"I went back to Calder.

"You're eager to be my wife.""You were the one who said 'till the end' instead of 'I do',Calder.If that day wasn't our end,I'm still your wife and I will be.So,shut up!You wanted this."

"I sure did.No complaints.Still mad over here,Nox.""Right!"We came to my study.I changed into some sweatpants and came back.No jacket this time.

"You said proposal and stuff.If you didn't love her,why did you say yes?"I shrugged."Felt like it.I thought I loved her enough to marry her,when I didn't even like her that much."

"What's the deal with the beach house?""She bought the beach house,I bought the penthouse.I made her sign a pre-nup before marriage.I got the beach house with that signiture."

I saw something on my desk."Oh,God!"I opened my laptop and signed the paper I was supposed to sign and send today."Done!"I finished my noodle.

"Are you hungry by the way?""No?"I shrugged."More food for me.Let's go."I found Ezra and Gina watching Coco on the tv."I love this movie!""Uncle Ezra,I like your mom."

"Just call me Ezra,Gina.""Oh,alright.What do I call you then,Ezra's mom?"I sat next to her."Just call me Adrienne or Nox.But Adri is an option to make my name shorter."

"Adri,I like that."I turned to Calder as I felt how left out he felt.I got his hand and got him to sit next to me."It's ok to spend some meaningless time every once in a while."

I scoffed at myself."I,certainly,learned that the heard way."I suddenly felt different.It was odd.Gina left to go to the bathroom and then the odd feeling went away.

"What is today?""Mom,it's full moon."I slapped my forehead."Gina!You two stay here."I went to the bathroom."Gina,princess,breathe through the pain!Do you hear me?!"

She started screaming."Gina,focus on my voice and try to breathe!""I don't want to hurt anyone!I didn't mean to do what I did!"I nodded."I know,princess.I know."

I sighed."If I could get her under control,I could take her somewhere I can draw power from the sea.I can make it so much easier for her!She's seven for full moon's sake!"

I started pacing around out of concern and worry.She soon broke down the bathroom's door.She was still trying to shift."Mom!Don't even think about that!"

"I'm old enough to know I endured the greatest pain that life could throw your way.I think I will be fine,Ezra."

I might be a Siren but I used to be a witch.A sea witch but one can major on many elements.So,throughout the decades I spent,I mastered them all on a level.

A level high and great enough to shape shift with Gina at the same time,taking her pain away in the mean time.I felt Ezra light the stove.I drew my power from the fire.

It hurt but I didn't even scream.I looked at Gina."No need to freak out.Everything is how it is supposed to be."She came whimpering at me."I'm so sorry."

After she turned back to her human form,so did I.Gina was all tired out.I picked her up and took her to the spare bedroom."Why would you do that,mom?!"

"She's seven,Ezra!What did you expect me to do?!"He scoffed."Luckily,I'm not the one who is supposed to go to the castle first thing in the fucking morning,mom!"

"Stop yelling at your mother!"I turned to Calder."You know what?All three of us are going.I need to figure out this bullshit that Megdalope put you in.I need Ezra to check on everything-"

"Mom?!"I rolled my eyes."I don't know how long it'll take for me to handle this stuff with Calder!"

Suddenly,my head started spinning."I-I-I-I uh...I don't-"I almost lost my balance there for a second."What did you expect,mom?!Come on."

I depended on Ezra but...Calder scooped me up."I got her,Ezra."He took me to my bedroom and helped me change out of my clothes.

"Calder?""Yes?"I took a deep breath."Why were those guys pointing their guns at me?"He tightened his grip."I met this powerful guy,I overthroned him and became the boss."

I nodded."Wow.We did different things with our lives.""What did you do?"I rolled my eyes."Maybe later.But uhm...you should know that,Baron's son wants another war."

"Baron as in the bastard who wrecked the day I finally got to marry you?What a lovely guy?!"I chuckled."Well,Gavril wants revenge.I have to give it to him."

"You don't have to."I nodded."I know,I just hate him and he pisses me off so fucking much!"
