Chapter 38-Mutual Feeling

We came to the kingdom.I found Pisinoe right away."Is that Calder?"I nodded."What's wrong?"Azazel showed up.

"She's uhm...She's not doing alright.I meant to find you,my Lady,but I had to be here while you were gone."I shook my head in disbelief."No.No,not yet.Pisinoe,you promised!"

She smiled."If it's my time,it's my time.You have grown so much.You created something of your own for the second time.I think I've seen enough to go peacefully."

I was confused but alright.But,out of nowhere,she started chanting as she held my hand."What are you doing?Pisinoe?"I tried to take my hand from her and she didn't let go!

I turned to Azazel as I was desperate!"What is she doing?!""She's sacrificing herself for you."I turned back to Pisinoe for one glance as I kept trying to break her hold on me.

"NO!NO,STOP!"

Then suddenly,I stopped.I found myself,having an internal fight with Pisinoe's soul and mine.Pisinoe fighting to be a part of me and I'm against her.

I heard her whisper."I love you,Adrienne,and you need to let me in."I could feel the tears but,mentally,I wasn't in that room."I love you too mom."And I let her in.

When I opened my eyes,I saw myself getting darker."I never got darker because I killed someone of my kind."I turned to the rest."I got darker because I gave my light to them."

I shook my head."The darkness I created never consumed me,I just gave my light to those in need and the darkness was more than the light I had in me.The unbalance is the reason."

Then I suddenly felt the wards being breached."Gavril!""Adrienne,you need to go to the safe room."I shook my head."No,I need to kill that son of a bitch!"

What Azazel said caught my attention."The more light you give,the more souls you take.The more souls you take,the more power you gain.It is as simple as that."

I shook my head."The soul has to be given willingly.I've killed people.I've killed witches,werewolves,merpeople,humans...I was always white!"

"Then you need to take mine and I'm willing to give it."I shook my head."I lost my mom.I'm not losing more to-"Before I could finish the sentence,I felt the lives of those who died.

"THEY'RE DYING!""They would be willing too."Azazel went ahead."I can handle this.I promise."Only if I knew.

I went out there and Azazel had already talked to them all.Those who were dying,chanted as I sat on the throne.Every life that belongs to this kingdom is bound to the castle's spirit.

The core of the castle,that is my throne.I thanked them all and let them in.I felt how bravely they all faught and how honorably they died.

When I felt the last sliver of light leave me,I knew there'd be no way to stop me from ending them all.

I swam outside and everybody gasped."Y-Y-Y-Y-You can't.""Oh,but I did,Gavril."I felt the bronze chains pierce through every skin cell of mine,then my muscles and then my bones.

I pulled the chains and his people crashed onto each other.As they dealt with the spinning head.I tore out their hearts."You were saying,Gavril?"

I dug my hand into his chest like I did to his father once."Any last words?""Kill me,then my son will come to avenge me."I tore his heart out."If you say so."

I got my people to retreat."All of us against a little lady?""Correction:All of you against the Dark Lady of the Sea?I control the waves you float upon!I control those tides you go against!"

Suddenly my entire eyeball turned black."Have a little respect."Controlling every tiny atom of the sea,I tore all of their hearts out at the same time."I don't take disrespect lightly."

More of them came to find their friends dead.I killed them all until I knew that more of them was not coming.

I used their blood to strengthen the wards around the castle."Nox?"I turned around to find Calder,watching me.I calmed down and my anger started vanishing.

As I calmed down,the more shocked he became.Then more people started showing up with wide open eyes!"What?"Calder came over."How is it even possible?"

He shifted his gaze from me to my belly."Oh my-"I started screaming as I felt the baby inside me,ready to come out."WHEN THE HELL DID I GOT THIS PREGNANT?!"

* Another 140 Years Later *

"Mom,I can't!"I sighed."Baby,you're going to be just fine.Nixie,baby,I'm here.Your dad is here.Your brother Ezra and Dom is here.You're going to be just fine."

"Will you all be here when I go into the class and look outside?"I nodded."We will be here."She nodded."When I come back out?"I nodded."We will be here."

Calder leaned down and picked her up."But don't get used to it.Mommy,your brothers and I cannot stay here all day every day.Just today because it's your first day of school."

Nixie hugged Calder's neck.Suddenly she looked around ind shock."Everybody's family is leaving."I nodded."Yes,they are."She jumped off of Calder.

"Mommy,daddy,bro-bros...You guys are embarassing me.Could you all leave?"I scoffed."My girl is all grown up."

Calder and I waited.You know,just in case.And she looked at us once every class."I cannot believe that today is your 300th birthday."I turned to Calder and hit his shoulder.

"You need to learn when to shut up!""I'm 312.No younger than you."I shrugged it off."I fucking hate you."He nodded."Mutual feeling,love.Mutual feeling."
