Smiling I watched her.
We were both slammed over the couch after such a exhausting day.
She looked so sweet in her sleep. So concerned and worried but in the same way childish and small.
How we ended up here?
Well, we brought her siblings to bed. I never imagined how much work two four-year - olds must be! Even though we were both helping them it took an hour until they laid in bed.
" Fairytale! ", Annie cried and sighing heavily Hayley took the book from the nightstand and sat down at their beds.
I watched her from the door: she bowed her head in a soft way, just like a princess. Her voice was soft and I have never heard a better version of Snow White than how she read it out loud.
I saw Annies eyes grow heavy and how she tried to fight it, like she does everything, but after a while she gave in. Closing her eyes she sighed and fell asleep.
Ben was, like always a bit slower but also quiter than his sister and a few minutes later we were alone in the room watching two sleeping children.
"Come!", Hayley whispered and showed me the way down the stairs.
I was tired, exhausted and everything hurted from the much sport I did today, but I was happy. At least I was sitting in Hayley's house, she had smiled at me and now she came into the living room where I was sitting, carrying two glasses of juice on a tray.
" Here.", she offered and sat down next to me.
" Thanks!", I said.
" What a day! ", she sighed and laid back on the couch.
" Yeah! ", I laughed.
For a moment we sat in silence and I watched her profile. She was still so pretty.
Suddenly Hayley shivered.
" Are you cold?", I wanted to know.
She shrugged, but shivered again.
" Oh, come here, angel! ", I smiled.
For first she resisted, but then she crawled over and laid down in my arms.
And now I was sitting there, she was sleeping quitly in my arms.
Slowly, really slowly I leaned forward and after one more second of thinking, I placed a small kiss on her head.
She started to smile but did not wake up.
I started to smile as well. So pretty.
Sighing I closed my eyes and laid my head on hers. Slowly I drove off to sleep.
