Hayley's point of view
The drive to the hospital was quite; we stared out of the windows and tried to catch our thoughts.
"Where's your mom?", he asked suddenly.
" Working. ", I responded shortly.
He rose his brows without letting his eyes wander of the street.
"Her son is in hospital! She should be there for him and not leave it all to you. ", he growled.
" Exactly. ", I stated. " Ian is in hospital. Remember when it started with dad? Just the same way. He in hospital. She just can't cope with that. "
He sighed. " But you can cope with it? "
I shrugged. " Somebody has to. "
He shock his head.
" Just leave it be, okay? ", I asked and he sighed.
" It's okay. "
Somehow he seemed angry.
Nick stayed with me the whole time. While I waited for the doctors to release Ian, while he packed and while we talked with the nurses.
My brother was pale, weak and his voice still sounded husky, but his feather had broken and he grinned when he saw me.
" Only one question. Please cook something nice! ", he said and Nick behind me laughed.
" That hospital food is crap, ain't it? "
" How do you know? ", I asked interested.
He grimaced and shrugged. " Let's get you outta here. "
Shaking my head I followed him and helped Ian the best I could while we made our way to Nicks car.
When we came home, I sent Nick off once more to pick up the twins. Alltough it hurted me to depend on him, I could not pick them up on myself. And he had done it without saying another word.
I sighed and helped Ian into his bed.
