Hayley's point of view

The next week was as long and exhausting as the weeks before.

Over all I noticed by great horror, that the time with Chris was one of the most exhausting and time steeling thing.

He liked my siblings, but he could not treat them right.

This lead to our meetings starting later every day and after a while seeing him was only possible in the late evening.

It was the time of the day I normally filled with homework, studies and working - all the things I was not able to do during the day.

I really noticed the meaning of this lifestyle in a Thursday morning.

The other day Chris had stayed at my place till half past one o'clock and I had fallen asleep over my homework and the study for a test afterwards.

The first two periods were a rush of adrenalin and anger.

Never before I had sit in a test and not known how to a) keep my eyes open and b) concentrate on the tasks. And on top of all it was the first time I sat in a test without knowing a single answer.

I handled over the papers to my teacher half an hour before we had to and disappeared out of the classroom with an apologetic grimace.

Coming home I found Ben and Annie fighting this much that they were crying and Ian slammed over the table covered with books and papers.

" Our teacher said we're writing a test. Tomorrow. In maths. About the topic I missed due to the hospital shitt .", he explained and his expression changed between frustrated and complete panic.

" Let me see! ", I shouted over the screaming of my siblings.

The tasks hadn't been the hardest but I understood Ian.

Missing school for two weeks was dangerous - it was so easy to fall behind!

" It is my car! ", Annie screamed, tears running down her checks while she was pulling Ben's hair.

" But I'm the boy! It is my right to play with it. ", her brother answered, no inch calmer.

" STOP! YOU GIVE ME THE CAR AND GO INTO YOUR ROOM! NOW! I REALLY HAVE ENOUGH OF YOUR FIGHTING!", I exclaimed even louder than them and for a second it was silent.

Ben and Annie looked at me with complete shock in their eyes and started to cry.

" UP! NOW!"

Breathing hard I dropped into the chair next to Ian and grabbed the papers from him.

"Let me see!"

-

Dinner was quiet, all of us were either angry and tired (me), horrified (the little ones) or afraid of the next day (Ian).

Although they were quiet, it took me about an hour to get them into bed.

Chris appeared while I was still cleaning up the kitchen.

He embraced me from behind and kissed my neck.

" Hi baby!", he whispered.

" Chris! I'm still working! " Rolling my eyes I freed myself and continued to clean up.

"Hayls! Come on! I don't have this much time! I don't want to spend it watching you work. ", he said.

"Well; I'm sorry I'm not pleasing you, but when you're bored - you know the way out! ", I snapped back.

" Hayls!", he said and killed the space between us with two steps.

He trew away the towel I held in my hands, picked me up and carried me to the couch.

" Hey! Allow yourself half an hour of relaxing before you carry on! ", he said softly and with a sigh I closed my eyes.

Using his stomach as a pillow I laid in his arms and sighed.

" I am having feelings like a highly pregnant women! ", I whispered jokingly.

As I could feel his chest vibrate by his laughing, I smiled.

" I'm happy you're here. "

He kissed my head. " I love you. "

And I closed my eyes and let my head fall back.
