Hayley's point of view

Three or four weeks dragged on without anything interesting happening.

Ian got well again and Annie and Ben found friends in their kindergarten.

I managed to get my life straight: managed to find a way to handle school, the job, taking care of my siblings and my boyfriend.

My mother was in the clinic like always and I went back from work on a late Friday night.

Chris was at home because he had to study and I was bored like hell.

But the last I wanted to do was going home now into the dark, cold, empty house of ours.

That's why I wandered down the roads. Not exactly knowing where my feet would lead me, I let my thoughts run wild.

Don't know how and when I got there, but I found myself in a disco at the bar.

" What can I get you, sweety?", the bar keeper asked me and I smiled at him.

He was tall, thin and dressed in complete black.

"Surprise me. ", I said.

He laughed. " I've never seen you around before. Who are you? "

" Get me a drink, get the answer. ", I said.

Rolling his eyes he turned around and got me something.

"Attention. It's quite strong. "

I drowned the shot and laughed as the feeling kicked in.

"I'm Hayley. "

" Hey. Nice to meet you. I'm Brian. ", the bar keeper said.

I smiled. " Nice to meet you. "

He pointed at my clothes. " You're one of us? "

I had to think twice about what he wanted, then I laughed.

" Na. I'm no emo."

" Then why wearing black? "

I smiled. " Personal reasons. "

He laughed. " Okay."

" What about you? "

Brian smiled. " Protest against our regime and the stupidity of the world. "

I rose my eyebrows and he started to laugh.

" I'm clean. Not one of those assholes. ", he said.

I nodded and smiled at him. " Cool. "

Another girl came to the bar and ordered a Wodka shot.

He smiled at her and handed it over.

Turning around he came back to me.

" So. How are you? What are you doing here? ", he asked.

" Well. ", I responded. " Just came back from work and don't wanna go home. "

He smiled. " Alone there? "

I shook my head. " Na. But all siblings are sleeping. "

" You're lucky! I ain't got a brother or sister. ", he explained.

" They're hard work. "

"Yeah. "

I looked at my phone, checking the time.

" Ey. I gotta go. It's already way to late.", I said.

Brian smiled. " Okay. The drink is for free. Just make sure you come round again. "

I smiled. " Yeah great! Thank you!"

And waving one last time I left the bar and the disco and started my walk home.

The shot had really been strong. I had a bit difficulties finding my way back home, but finally I made my way into the house, stumbled upon the stairs and fell into my bed.
