I asked for love, I asked for mercy, I asked you for sunshine, and I begged you for the hard rain
oh I begged you for the rain. I asked for love oh, you are already all of these things. If I knew what I needed If I knew what was good for me I'd, I'd be down on my knees begging Please please please let your light shine bright inside of me shine inside of me. I know that you're already all of these things.--Paramore, Miracle (Outro).
Chapter Forty Nine.
Adrienne's Point Of View:
I watched Jacob as he marched out of the house and slammed the door behind him, causing the windows to vibrate in their frames. I immediately turned on my Grandmother, what did she say to him-to make him act like that? I followed her into the kitchen and watched as she headed for the back door, I used air to slam the door shut. Grandmother froze and turned to face me, her face fulled with horror and astonishment. My head was hurting so much but I wasn't about to let that get in the way of me getting the truth out of her, My Grandmother has a hard skin-she's a hard nut to crack-but when you really get in there, you get the answer-somehow.
'What did you say?' I seethed, balling my fists. 'I want the truth'
'Adrienne, it's important that you focus on your training for the Agni Kai!' Nan shrieked, crossing her arms in a childish manner.
I arched my eyebrow. 'How do you know about the Agni Kai?' I demanded, I haven't even told anyone about that-Not even Jacob, I think.
'I was the one that gave your father the information of your where abouts' Nan blurted out, surprising me. 'Do you think that he just miraculously came up with your number?'
I frowned and looked away. 'No...' I mumbled, meekly. The image of Jacob's face flashed in my head again, the way he looked at me when I was on the steps-he looked so sad and defeated as if Grandmother said something to drive him away. 'You still haven't answered my question...'
'You need time to practice for your Agni Kai, Adrienne, you need learn that Jacob isn't always going to be there to fix your problems and the same to me and your friends!' Nan boomed, coming closer to the table.
'I don't need any of you-I can fix my own problems!' I snapped.
Grandma scoffed. 'Yes, Adrienne, you can fix your own problems-so where would you be if Jacob didn't do Avatar revival. hm?-What would be doing if your mother didn't help you learn how to use your affinity?'
I didn't answer, and she knew she had me. 'What did you say to Jacob?' I demanded, she still hasn't answered my question-properly.
Grandmother shrugged. 'I just told him a few home truths' I arched my eyebrow, I sighed and looked away, I went up to my room and put on my jacket and converses.
I didn't bother changing out of my pajamas, I grabbed my truck keys and stormed back down the stairs. I was still fuming from our conversation, how dare she think that she can just come in here and push all my friends away? 'I'm going out...' I muttered going for the door.
'Where to...it's half past midnight Adrienne' Grandma stated, as if I didn't know and I cared. 'Jacob can wait until tomorrow...'
I narrowed my eyes at her. 'Nan, I love you so much but right now, you're starting to piss me off'
'Excuse me!?' Grandma shrieked, not believing her ears. I honestly don't know where I get my temper and band language from, it can't be from my mother and it's certainly not from my Grandmother, she's like a replica of the Queen. 'All I'm doing is trying to help you, you're just like your mother-always wanting to make things harder for yourself!'
