Chapter Nineteen:
Edward’s Point Of View:
I don’t know why I agreed to this! Carlisle suggested we all go out as a normal-human family to the movies to watch-what Emmett suggested-Nightmare on Elm Street; we’d been sitting in the dim theatre watching the advertisements playing around with the popcorn. I’d much rather be with Bella, in her room just watching her sleep, as boring as it sounds-as a vampire, it’s a beautiful thing to watch-A human being fast asleep, their bodies operate differently when they’re sleeping, it’s amazing, Bella’s amazing.
I really didn’t want to see this-a remake of a Nightmare on Elm Street. I didn’t want to re-live the wistfulness of the time we’d all seen the original movies back in 1984, unfortunately I had to sit next to Rosalie and Emmett…great. This movie is going to be worse than the first; it’s going to have blood-unrealistically-watering everywhere over the screaming voices.
‘One, Two, Freddy’s coming for you…’ Emmett chanted under his breathe, excited as the movie began…Oh, here we go.
‘Emmett, stop it!’ I whispered, keeping my attention focused on the screen but my mind on Bella, I had to lie and tell her that I was going hunting and that I’d see her later…hopefully she didn’t think that I was planning on leaving again.
‘Three, Four…better lock your door…’ Emmett began again. I’d tell him to shut up but he’s only going to start again and get louder.
I sighed inwardly. Emmett was the only one actually excited about seeing the movie. Not even Rosalie-his life long mate-could talk him out of wearing that ridiculous red and black Freddie-Kreuger-esque shirt. Thankfully, Carlisle made him leave the fake claws in the car...after all; we monsters didn’t need accessories to kill.
‘Seven, eight…better stay up late…’ Emmett continued, Rosalie groaned and placed her head in her hands as a girl let out a blood curdling scream before being hacked aggressively with a chain saw, they over exaggerated on the blood.
‘Emmet, please. People are staring at you,’ Esme hissed, I sent her a thankful look and she smiled at me before turning to face the screen again.
Emmett sighed. ‘You all suck!’ he snapped as he flopped back against the seat, causing it to make a loud cracking sound.
Rosalie turned to look at Emmett and grinned. ‘Oh my God-you ass! You just broke the seat!’ Rose announced loud enough for only the vampires to hear.
‘No I didn’t!’ Emmett snapped, childishly and leaning back into the chair again causing it to make a snapping sound. I smirked…yes he did. Emmett looked at me with a surprised look on his face.
‘Uh, maybe just a little’ Emmett muttered, trying to sit himself properly in the chair so the whole thing didn’t break down. Just then the actual good part began; I ignored the banter between Rose and Emmett and let my thoughts wander.
The Next Day:
Adrienne’s Point Of View:
I woke up bright and early the next day; Sorcha and Lauren were fast asleep. I didn’t see Mom come in yesterday so I went into her room, to see if she was there. I tip-toed across the hall and peeped in through the door, I could hear light snoring. I leaned over the lump in the bed and pecked her forehead…she was so cold.
‘Mom?’ I whispered, shaking her a little.
‘MmHm?’ Mum barely grunted before the soft snores began again. I shook her lightly again, normally I shake her really hard but this time, I felt that if I shook her too much, she’d break-she felt so bony and fragile.
