2:

I opened the door and jogged down the stairs, only to arrive and see that everything had been set up already. The living room, the dining area, mum's room, the kitchen, and the bathroom. It was just my room that was left to unpack and organize. Everything i owned was piled in boxes that were scattered all around the room. Only one of the boxes was already open and it was the box that held the wall shelves that Jake was supposed to put up. However, he was very aggravated with me because I had thrown water all over him. It's a good thing that he had his back to me because if he had suddenly turned around and seen me do it... well, my mom would kill me.

I felt something snatch my arm and hold it with a death grip. I was about to scream bloody murder but I saw it was Mom and I sighed in relief that it wasn't an ax murderer. However, that relief soon changed.

"Why'd you throw water on Jacob?" Mum hissed in anger as I realized we were in the kitchen. Jake is Jacob?-I should have know, I'm such a ditz.

"Because he called me a brat!" I snapped sounding a little childish, I knew I was in the wrong but I refused to admit it. I should have used fire.

"That's the big issue?" a sigh. "At least you used a water bottle instead of your abilities." Mum muttered, looking right in my face. I tried not to look around the room guiltily but whenever I told a lie it was the only thing I could do.

"You used your powers?" Mum hissed again but a little louder than before. I sheepishly nodded knowing I was caught. "He called me a brat," I repeated "he doesn't even know me. Besides, that will teach him not to mess with me again." I hissed back.

"He's only trying to help Adrienne. Plus, he's going through a rough time." Mum sighed, as she rubbed her temple.

"And that's supposed to be my fault?" I asked incredulously, I felt like I was being rude but I couldn't help it, I'm getting told off for defending my dignity.
"Adrienne!-Don't be like that, now you get your butt out there and apologize immediately." Mum scolded, pointing her finger at me in that parenting way. I scowled and walked out of the kitchen; I walked past the dining set and stopped when I came face to face with Jacob.
Everyone was busy putting the furniture together, so there were sounds of drilling and hammering. Jacob looked at me with a smirk on his face and his arms crossed, he had taken off his hoodie that I had gotten soaking wet, without regret of course.
"Hi...can I help you?" Jacob said, mocking my voice from when I first spoke to him earlier.

“I'd like to apologize for my inappropriate behavior towards your hoodie." I smiled insincerely, letting him know that what I'd really meant was 'I'm being forced to apologize so, I'd like to give a forced apology for my inappropriate behavior towards you' but I couldn't say that because it would be really rude even though I would mean it wholeheartedly and I knew I would get in even more trouble if I did actually say that.

"I'm waiting..." Jacob smiled, leaning on the table. I just sighed in aggravation.
“And I'm sorry for pouring water all over you and I'd like you to fix my bed, please." I said, with the first part being very reluctant and the second a little less reluctant. I said this while looking him in the eye and putting on the cutest face I could muster up.

"I'm sorry, I can't hear you." Jacob shouted over the drilling sound and cupping his hand behind his ear while grinning like he had just won the lottery. "The drilling is too loud."

I groaned and resisted the urge to repeat my so called 'offense' towards this idiot!
I clenched my jaw and took a deep breathe. "I'm...sorry." I dragged out, hoping I wouldn't have to actually say it but that this would be over and done with. "And I'd like you to fix my bed, please."
