Chapter Twenty Six

Chapter Twenty-Six:

Adrienne’s Point Of View:

Sorcha, Lauren and I had collected eight logs in total so we carried two each back to the camp site, today I’m going to fight-in a real battle-with Jacob against numbers of new born vampires but first I need to apologize to Bella…This is going to be a toughie.

We started getting closer to the camp site, Sorcha and Lauren were in front of me and were the first to stop and gasp, I looked at them and looked at what they were looking at…That’s when the pieces that Callum had created reformed and broke in two again inside of me. It was Jacob…and her, I couldn’t bring myself to think or even say her name, and he was all over her, kissing her, holding her.

My bones became weak, my arms weren’t strong like how they were instead they were weak and loopy like spaghetti; I dropped the logs-not caring where they landed. Jacob pushed Bella away and turned to look at me, I could already see the lies building up in his eyes…just like Callum-they’re all the same, men-none of them can be trusted, unless they’re gay.

‘Adrienne…’ Jacob began. ‘I can explain…’ The award winning line, created by the first cheater ‘I can explain’ how many times have I heard that before?

‘Go on then…explain-explain how you said you loved me but then I see you all over her?-I don’t even know why I bothered pouring out my feelings to you…’ I craned my neck to look at Bella who was just as surprised as Jacob was. ‘Are you happy now?’

Bella looked at me and shook her head, ‘This wasn’t supposed to happen…’

I shrugged my shoulders. ‘You’re right-it wasn’t-I am pathetic, for ever thinking that Jacob was any different than Callum’ and with that I ran…as far and as fast as I could, I had no idea where I was going, I just needed to get as far away from the campsite as possible.

Lauren’s Point Of View:

Adrienne pushed past Sorcha and I, and ran away, Sorcha and I both knew she was going to cry-just like she did when Callum cheated-Edward came from behind the bush…She’s gonna get it now. Jacob looked at Bella and Edward then back at Sorcha and me.

‘Adrienne!’ Jacob called, starting to run.

‘If you’re thinking of going after her-you must be as stupid as I thought you were’ Sorcha shouted, pushing Jacob back. ‘Don’t you think you’ve done enough damage?’

‘You don’t understand…This was a mistake-I don’t know what I was thinking…I just need to find Adie before she gets hurt’ Jacob pleaded, looking behind us to see if Adie was near by.

‘No’ I snapped. ‘You don’t understand, Jacob, she trusted you and you just ruined it!’

Jacob didn’t look fazed by what I said, but he looked like he got the message; Adrienne doesn’t want him anywhere near her. Edward stepped past Bella after talking to her quietly and walked over to us.

‘The fight’s going to start…You should join the pack; I’ll have Seth find Adrienne-I’ll let you know if she’s safe’ Edward stated.

‘I’m not fighting…I’ll find her myself’ Jacob ignored, Sorcha and I by pushing past us and running after Adrienne…

‘He’s so gonna get killed’ I muttered.

‘Edward, why don’t we use Bella as bait-to you know, lure the leader of the army here’ Sorcha suggested, forgetting Jacob and probably plotting on how to get revenge on Bella for trying to take Adie’s man.
