Noah's POV

"Hey Noah" Onyx said as he walked up with Paxton not far behind him

"Did you see the race" Onyx asked

I nodded and noticed Paxton's angry glare. What have I ever done to him

Onyx noticed his friends glare and hit his shoulder.

"Dude nock it off." Onyx said seriously

"What. You know I don't trust just anyone" Paxton's deep voice rang out.

"He's my brother that has to count for something" onyx said in my defense and Paxton just grunted in response.

"Whatever. Anyway you ready to go home." I nod and get up. We go into the locker room and I grab my stuff while waiting for Onyx to change.

We then walk out of the boys locker room and walk to the center of the gym where Ruby comes out changed into athletic wear and her pom poms hanging off the side of her backpack.

"Hey you ready" Nyx asked his twin and she nodded

After this encounter the three of us head to the car and drive home.

I regret that we didn't take longer because when I got in dad and Rebecca were sitting on the couch with serious faces .

"Guys we need to talk to Noah alone can you both go upstairs please" Rebecca asks her children and the nod

"I call dibs on the shower in the main bathroom" Ruby called out while Onyx argued back

"Nyx honey you can use the one in my room"Rebecca called and he just grumbled while going upstairs.

"Dad what's going on" I say while turning to look at him.

"Son. Your mother called today. She wants to talk to you." I know dad just wants to keep the peace but he knows full well whatever she has to say won't be productive in trying to fix our relationship.

"No" I say instantly

"You have to talk to her eventually bud"

"No" I say tears of fury coming into my eyes

"After what she did. What she said. She wanted to send me to a fucking church conversion camp. And once I told her no that it's considered brainwashing she kicked me out. She fucking kicked me out with my phone and the clothes on my back" I yell while angry tears drop down my face.

"Oh honey" Rebecca said and pulled me onto the couch next to her hugging me and smoothing down my hair. She whispered sweet words that helped me to calm down.

"It's all her and Darrens fault." I sob and she just continues to hold me.

"Son. I just want you to have closure. Not saying you have to have a relationship like you once did." Dad says rubbing my back.

"I'll think about it" I said once I calmed down.

"I'm tired from practice and gross. Also sorry Rebecca I got you sweaty" I say feeling a bit guilty.

"Honey I have a daughter that will do cheer till she collapses and a son who loves to exercise I'm used to it. Now if you want you can go take a shower then rest after. How does that sound" she asks running her hand through my hair in a motherly way.

I sniff and nod.

I then get up off the couch and go to the vacated hall bathroom after grabbing my bathrobe.

After doing my normal routine while I shower I walk out and to my room but stop once I hear talking.

"Nick why does Esme want to talk to Noah" Ruby asked my dad

"I don't know hun. I just hope he's happy here" she nodded unsure.

I just sigh and walk to my room and get changed and lay in my dark room attempting to fall asleep

A knock resonates from the other side of my door.

"Noah" Sapphire said softly

"Yeah come in" I said lowly as I rested my eyes

"Are you ok" she asked in her usual quiet voice

"I don't know. I'm just tired Sapph." I tel her honestly

"Were you going to take a nap" she asked and I hummed in conformation.

"Can we take a nap together like we used to when I was little." She asked and I smiled at the simpler days that were behind us. While I didn't see dad and everyone much when I did Sapphire would be attached to me. Unless I had to change, go to the bathroom or bathe.

She also would always want to sleep next to me claiming we needed to spend as much time as possible together.

"Come here" I sad scooting over.

"I love you Noah. No matter who you like. I don't understand why Esme can't." She pouted. Especially she and my mom didn't get along.

" I know. And I love you too munchkin" I said as she cuddled into me and we both fell asleep and would be woken up until just before dinner.
